Strongest Bridge Challenge

Find a few friends or your siblings for this engineering design challenge! Using materials from your house, design the strongest bridge.

Part 1:

Think about the materials you have in your home. Sketch 4 possible bridges you could build that will hold the most weight. Find an adult and share your plans before you move to part 2.

Part 2: Part 3:

Create a list of materials you will need to create your bridge.

Materials:

Build your bridge. Explain why you think your bridge will hold the most amount of weight.

Part 4:

Test your bridge with your friends/siblings. Start with a light amount of weight using coins, or other small objects around your home. Record what happens in the chart below each time you add more weight. Continue adding weight until your bridge cannot hold anymore.
