Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for the Virginia K-12 Learning Acceleration Grant? Grants are being awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to families who have completed an application and are approved. Families whose children attend public schools, charter schools, private schools, or homeschool are all eligible to apply for this grant as long as they reside in Virginia and are of school-age. Revolution Prep was granted provider status because of a demonstrated track record of results for K-12 families in key areas, such as: closing learning gaps, handling learning differences, and helping advanced students accelerate their learning. Does the tutoring have to take place before December 30, 2023 to be covered? We can provide you with documentation which allows you to purchase services now and schedule them in 2024. Talk to your advisor for details. What subjects are covered? Tutoring in core content areas is covered. This includes: English reading/writing, mathematics, science and history/social science, and foreign languages required to meet graduation requirements. Tutoring may be virtual, in person, hybrid, one-onone, small group or large-group settings. What is not covered? Unfortunately, the state of Virginia does not currently cover test prep programs or subjects that are not required for graduation. Talk to a Revolution Prep advisor to see if the program you had in mind for your child is covered.
