your legacy, our future
Age: 11
Status: First Form bursary recipient
Story: Being in the junior girls' choir is one of the best parts of my life! I get to sing at so many amazing places—informal concerts, unplugged sessions, and even shows at Leatherhead Theatre and Queen Elizabeth Hall! Whenever Mr. Fenton’s letters arrive, I feel so proud, like I’m making my sponsor proud too. These experiences mean everything to me because they let me do more of what I love. I’m so happy to be part of the RGS family, where I feel accepted just as I am.

Name: Co
Age: 18
Status: Student at University of Bath reading Marketing and Marketing Management
Story: I came to RGS on a full bursary after my foster mum insisted they give me a chance, and I’m so grateful the school opened its doors to me, giving me support and opportunities I’d never have had - especially in academics, rugby and the friendships that mean the world to me. I’ll never forget our trip to the turtle sanctuary in Greece. Now, as I study in Bath, I’m determined to succeed and someday give back … that’s what being a Reigatian means to me.
Changing Lives
Name: Claire Minter
Status: RGS Parent of bursary recipient and Legacy Pledger
Story: As a mother of a current bursary recipient, I knew that I wanted to do something to help and give back, so that more children can benefit from a wonderful education at RGS. While I don’t have the means to support the Changing Lives, Building Futures campaign in my lifetime, I know firsthand the impact that leaving a legacy can have, which is why I have left a proportion of my estate to this initiative.

Name: John ‘Harry’ Wale
Class of: 1954
Status: Retired and Legacy Pledger
Story: I was incredibly fortunate to receive an education at Reigate Grammar School, which opened doors for me that changed my life. I was the first in my family to go to university and built a fulfilling career - all because of the opportunities and support I received at RGSand all at no cost to my parents. Now, I feel it’s my turn to give back and help other young people have the same chances I was given. By including RGS in my Will, I can help create brighter futures for generations to come. It feels right to do my part and make a lasting difference.
