HISCOX ARE PROUD SPONSORS OF THE REIGATE CHARITY 7S
18626 02/18
Richard Watson Chief Underwriting Officer (RGS 1976-1981) As a rugby fan I am delighted that Hiscox have become principal sponsors of the Reigate Charity 7s and will be supporting the rugby stars of the future.
Here at Hiscox we pride ourselves in being experts in our field and we’re acutely aware that the world of business requires team players in order to be successful. The core values of rugby; respect, teamwork, discipline, enjoyment and sportmanship that will be demonstrated here at Hartswood today, will stand these young people in good stead whatever career path they choose. We are very happy to be supporting this tournament and in particular the Changing Lives bursary campaign which addresses the issue of social mobililty in and around the local area. The Changing Lives campaign provides first class educational opportunities to children whose potential far outweighs their financial means. Hiscox are committed to making a change for the good and this social mobility campaign is a cause that we feel will make a difference in the world. Enjoy the tournament and I’m sure that you will be impressed with the standard of rugby on show from some potential future rugby stars! www.hiscoxgroup.com

Welcome back to RGS Hartswood for the 2019 Reigate Charity 7s sponsored by Hiscox. We are delighted to welcome some new additions to the teams this year: Bryanston School, Wellington College, Worth, Emanuel and Sevenoaks to name but a few. The standard seems to get higher each year, thank you and good luck to all entrants joining us for 2019.
I am delighted that we are able to host the Reigate Charity 7s tournament again at RGS Hartswood this year and hope that we can all enjoy a great day of rugby with friends and visiting schools whilst raising money for a superb cause: the RGS Changing Lives bursary campaign.
2019 marks five years since the launch of our important social mobility Changing Lives campaign and today plays a vital part in generating awareness, looking to the future and raising funds for a worthwhile cause. Thank you all for your support. Our enormous thanks go to Hiscox who have partnered with us to become the Principal Sponsor for the 2019 tournament and in particular Richard Watson (RGS 1976-1981) Chief Underwriting Officer for his support. Hiscox are one of the leading Insurance specialists in the UK offering a wide range of services from home insurance through to observational satellites! Our thanks also go to our Official Medical Partner, Return2Play, that will be on hand today for all medical needs. They are doing great work in the important field of concussion management and are a fantastic team, thank you for your support. We’d also like to thank Kukri Sports for their continued advocacy and to all of our commercial partners connected to the 2019 Reigate Charity 7s.
I am extremely grateful to all of our sponsors – including principal sponsor, Hiscox – who, in partnership with the RGS Foundation and wide range of volunteers, have made the event possible. RGS Hartswood is looking splendid and I am sure that the level of rugby will live up to these magnificent surroundings. Thank you to the dedicated RGS grounds team for all the hard work that goes into maintaining the ground throughout the year. Events such as this bring together so many of the best features of today’s young people – we celebrate their talent, team work and dedication. Winning is important but not at all costs and we will see that determination to succeed alongside traditional sporting values which are so important to help prepare a young person for later life. New entrants to the RGS rugby programme this year have made a fantastic impact, showing huge appetite and commitment to the game. Once again, being able to field four sides across the age range in competitive fixtures throughout the year brings depth and strength to RGS’s game.
Finally, thank you to all the staff and volunteers that have given up their precious time to ensure that today runs as smoothly as previous years.
Thank you to all staff, students, volunteers and visitors who have committed to supporting today’s event – I wish every team the best of luck for the tournament.
Enjoy the day!
With best wishes

CHARITY INFORMATION The RGS Foundation’s
Changing Lives campaign Reigate Grammar School was founded through the generosity and philanthropic support of Henry Smith in 1675. Throughout its long history the School has faced many challenges, particularly financial, yet shown formidable strength of character and resilience throughout. The 1675 Bursary Fund aims to transform lives by giving an opportunity to those whose potential is far greater than their financial means. Inspired by the philosophy of our founders, we recognise that such generosity enriches our School, enhances academic standards, social mobility, and widens educational opportunity. rgs.foundation
