The RGS Today Wednesday 3 June 2020 Issue 460
General Reminders From the Senior Prefects: A great opportunity for you to get involved creatively is in a music video that the Senior Prefect Team is putting together. If you would like to get involved or learn more please contact Deputy School Captain, Christian, at 8640@rgsg.co.uk. We are keen on getting all year groups involved and we need a variety of talents from actors to video editors and singers to photographers; we would love to hear from you if you would like to get involved in this project. Weekly Challenge 5: The weekly challenge for this week, until Sunday, is the 'Bring Sally up Challenge'. See the email from me including a link to the video of Ben Stokes to help you understand how the challenge works. If anyone is able to beat his time, I want video proof! I would love to receive some videos of you trying this. There will be no leaderboard; I want you to try and compete with yourself, bettering your time as much as possible (GDGC). Digital Resource of the Week: It is more difficult than ever to find reliable facts about what is going on in the world; it is easy to lose track of what is actually happening; it is hard to get a balanced interpretation of what it all means. The Day is different from other news providers, so you won’t feel so overwhelmed: it focuses on three or four stories a day, provides a clear explanation of each plus additional information to help you understand the context, and suggests further reading and discussion points to extend your knowledge and understanding. The articles are archived and tagged with school subjects to help with your research; there are special reports on subjects such as Coronavirus and a weekly current affairs quiz and caption competition. You can even improve your language skills by reading translated versions of some articles. To read The Day from home, go to: https://teamrgs.sharepoint.com/sites/rgs/Academic/Library/SitePages/Digital-Resources.aspx and click on the link; you won’t need a password (TFF).
