The RGS Today Tuesday 21 April 2020 Issue 435

General Reminders #RGSMotivation: We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges. Registration: A reminder that registration is a legal requirement and all students’ attendance will be recorded formally on the school system, as usual, at 8.45am each morning and 1.50pm in the afternoon. Your co-operation in being prompt so that Tutors do not have to waste time chasing up those who have not registered would be very much appreciated. Assembly: After you have been registered this morning, please take a look at the email (sent to all students) containing a link to a video which provides a welcome to the new Senior Prefect team. Remote Clubs and Societies: If you have an idea for a club or society that would work well remotely, then please contact SJHY in the first instance to discuss how best to proceed. As normal, all clubs and societies need a staff sponsor and should not take place without first consultation with SJHY. E-books: The Mallison Library can now lend e-books via the VLeBooks platform. For further details please see the Library’s homepage on Sharepoint, the Library catalogue and the email sent by Mrs Farthing over the Easter break: https://teamrgs.sharepoint.com/sites/rgs/Academic/Library/SitePages/Homepage.aspx Please let us have your requests for e-books to buy for the collection, using the Recommend function on VLeBooks. Library Loans: All Library loans from last term have now been extended until Friday 5 June. RGS Timecapsule Project: Ms McClean sent all students an email in the Easter holiday with a short video introduction to the RGS Timecapsule Project. This is a project to capture on film your thoughts, feelings and experiences during this time in order to preserve a dynamic and authentic record to keep in the RGS archives. Please read the email and contact Ms McClean if you would like to take part. The Great RGS Bake-Off 2020: The deadline for voting is 5.00pm today at which time the polls close. Further to Mrs Walker’s email, now is your chance to vote for the winners in each category: student, staff, and family. The power is in your hands! The student vote is particularly close: every vote matters! #NHS #bakeforourcarers. https://twitter.com/RGSGuildford
