The RGS Today Thursday 25 June 2020 Issue 477
General Reminders Lower Sixth Form Online Assessments: Please continue to arrive promptly for each of your assessments; the timetable is provided below for your reference. From the School Nurse: A continuing reminder that with the weather forecast to be extremely hot, for those doing assessments, please remember to have plenty of water with you to remain hydrated and to take any hay fever medication if you are a sufferer. If you have access to a fan, do try to have it available. For everyone, if you are taking part in an activity outside remember your water, sun cream and hats; when in remote lessons have plenty of water to keep hydrated and have your windows open, if at all possible (SBP). Period 8 Options: Members of the Third Form need to discuss next year’s Monday Period 8 options with their parents and ensure that they have submitted their choices by this Friday at 9.00am. All details were sent last Friday and also again to those who had not submitted their choices by yesterday (SJHY). Virtual Sports Week: Further to the information provided earlier in the week about next week’s event, a reminder that this week's sporting challenge is to practise the events you intend to enter during Sports Week. This will enable you to achieve the best result possible and at the same time boost your House’s score as the Cock House Cup reaches its finale: participation and achievement are equally valuable! It will also allow you to ask any questions about the event(s) should you have any. Best of luck (GDGC)! Mallison Library Book Return: It is now three months since the school library closed its doors to boys, and although hundreds of books were borrowed in the last few days in March, most of them have probably now been read and are simply taking up space in your homes. With the help of the school’s Estates Department, I have therefore arranged a safe way for those boys who wish to do so to return books that they no longer need before the end of term. This Saturday, 27 June, from 9.00am to 4.00pm, books may be deposited into one of the school vehicles which will be parked in the Eastgate school carpark. We ask that you enter the school site alone via the pedestrian gate from the Eastgate public carpark; there will be no access to the school building and no vehicular access to the School site. You should spend the minimum time necessary on site, observe social distancing and wash your hands as soon as possible after you leave. I hope to have a Click and Collect scheme in place to allow you to take books out of the Library before the summer holidays: further information will follow (TFF).
