The RGS Today Tuesday 30 June 2020 Issue 480
General Reminders #RGSTogether Week: We continue to mark #RGSTogether Week where we celebrate the extraordinary number of initiatives – charity, service, volunteering, and fundraising – which have taken place this year and this term in particular and have had such a profound impact on others. On our social media platforms throughout this week, we will be posting reminders of a number of the genuinely colourful, positive, feelgood events which have encapsulated this spirt of togetherness. Virtual Sports Week: A reminder that Sports Week has now started! This is your last opportunity this academic year to boost your House’s score as the Cock House Cup reaches its finale: participation and achievement are equally valuable! Best of luck (GDGC)! Smoothey Art Competition: The Smoothey Art Competition runs each year and is an opportunity for all students who aren't taking Art at GCSE or A Level to have a go at creating and submitting something from First Form to the Upper Sixth Form. The winning entry will get a significant prize of art materials and the top 5-10 entries will go on display in the RGS Art Studios. There is no preference for materials used to create the entry and students can submit up to three entries each. This year all entries must consider the theme Climate of Change. The entry will be handed into the Art Department in the Michaelmas Term by 14th September in Studio A1, where there will be a portfolio and labels for the entry. The Art Staff will be the judging panel and are looking forward to seeing diverse entries (RFS).
