ARRINGTON ICE ARENA
Arrington Ice Arena was officially dedicated and opened for business on October 19, 2007 as the men’s NCAA hockey team squared off in their inaugural game against Potsdam State. The Bulldogs christened the new facility with a resounding 9-1 win in front of a packed crowd, who were also in attendance to see Lord Stanley’s Cup on loan from the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. The facility is home to Adrian College’s men’s and women’s NCAA Division III hockey teams as well as the ACHA Division I and III men’s hockey teams, ACHA women’s hockey team and the synchronized skating teams. The arena is named after Dr. Robyn J. Arrington, Jr. and his brother, fellow Adrian alumnus Harold M. Arrington. The brothers donated $3 million on behalf of their family. The $5.5 million project is also a place where local residents can use the facility for recreational activities. The operating schedule includes open skates for the community, learn-to-skate programs for children and adults and hockey programs for people of various ages and abilities. The arena consists of a single sheet of ice, 550 chair-back seats, a media press box, a president’s seating area, concession stand, pro shop with skate rental, offices for ice sports coaches and personnel and locker rooms. For more information about Arrington Ice Arena, visit the website at (www.arringtonicearena.com). Arrington Ice Arena has already been praised as one of the best hockey venues in Division III. The arena has hosted such events as a Detroit Red Wing Alumni Game and the last five MCHA Harris Cups. In addition, Arrington Ice Arena has played host to the 2010 and 2011 ACHA Division I All-Star Game and will host the U.S. Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championships in 2014.

COACHING STAFF Chad Davis
Head Coach 4th Season American Int’l (2004) 517-264-5000 cdavis2@adrian.edu 54-23-4 Record at Adrian College Chad Davis begins his fourth season as head coach of the women’s hockey program at Adrian College and is the third head coach in school history. Davis led Adrian College to a successful 2012-2013 season. The Bulldogs recorded the most wins (20) in a season, compiled top combined special teams in the country, and set the program record for highest win percentage (.759) in a season. The Bulldogs also had outstanding individual performances in 2012-13 with two All-Americans, Conference Player of the Year and three All-NCHA players. Davis had a very successful rookie campaign with the Bulldogs in his first year as a head coach (201112) at the NCAA Division III level. Adrian finished the season with a 16-10-2 overall record and placed third in the rugged Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) with a record of 12-6-2. The team really began to hit its stride beginning with a win on January 15 at home against Concordia (Wis.). After that period the Bulldogs finished the season winning 11 of its final 13 games. Adrian defeated UW-Stevens Point in the NCHA O’Brien Cup quarterfinals and then defeated UW-Superior, 1-0, in the semifinals. The Bulldogs fell 4-2 in the finals on March 3 at topseeded UW-River Falls. Davis’ squad finished 12th in NCAA Division III in scoring out of 49 teams averaging 3.04 goals per game. Adrian also had the fourth-best power play unit in NCAA Division III scoring on 26.1 percent of its chances (40-of-153). Davis coached Second Team All-American Kelly Salis and also guided All-NCHA players Olivia Rork, Brittany Zeches and Salis. Davis joins the Adrian staff after spending the 2009-2010 season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at NCAA Division I Robert Morris (PA) University where he worked with the Colonials goaltenders that finished first in the Atlantic Hockey Conference in team save percentage and goals against average in overall play. From 2007-2009, Davis was head coach of Eastern Michigan University in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). In 2006-07, Davis was the head coach of Walled Lake Western High School’s varsity squad. Before leading the Walled Lake Western staff, Davis spent a season as a defensive assistant coach at Gabriel Richard High School. Before joining the coaching ranks, Davis played professionally for the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. Davis played his college hockey with American International where he appeared in 52 games from 2001-04. He ranks fourth all-time in average saves per game and sixth all-time in saves.
