MONTHLY REPORT (Ref.001) NAME: STEVEN MILLS ELECTED POST: PRESIDENT (Education & Welfare) DATE: Update and achievements from previous month COMMUNITY • Accommodation o Long term strategy for Student flats on campus o Accommodation Allocation meetings and strategy • Shelter o Formed partnership and supporting homeless students and student rights. Will be supporting Union and Nightline. • Drug Action o New partnership, will be giving training to Union, Exec and RA’s and supporting Union and Nightline. • Rape Advice Support (RAS) o New Partnerhsip for support for SHAG week and Student Nightline. • Transport o Working with Student reps on transport improvement ENGAGEMENT • Refreshers • Mental Health Week o Zorbing o Free Yoga, Campus Walk, Table Tennis o Coffee Mornings o Radio REPRESENTATION • Assessment and Feedback form handed out to all student reps to take to class. Overwhelming amount taken and completed. • Student Partnership Agreement outcome set o Meeting with Kirsty and actions taken • Work on NSS with Faculty Officers and Student Reps • TLASC meeting o Meeting dedicated to Distance Learners


SUPPORT • Student Nightline – ITS HAPPENING, ITS LAUNCHED! • LGBT+ Charter o Part of the RGU LGBT+ working group aiming for ‘Foundation’ Level. o Part of the Union group aiming for Silver. • CareLeavers o Buttle UK Award o Pledge2Listen • Exam Destresser and Free Water DEVELOPMENT • Faculty Officer Training • Student leadership Programme progression. Meeting with James Dunphry, Ken Russell, Irina, Michele. Now adding content to modules. Awaiting Ken and Irina to finish before launching. Spoke to Christine Buchanan and Will from careers and how this may tie in to MyCareers Toolkit. • NUS Policy Day • Outline and plan, with timeline, for current month • • • • • • •
