MONTHLY REPORT NAME: Callum Martin ELECTED POST: VICE PRESIDENT (Entertainment & Events) DATE: 06/02/14 Update and achievements from previous month COMMUNITY o Regular discussions about general student behaviour and events though-out Aberdeen city with the various Night Clubs to gain understanding of the current student environment. o As per last exec, I have looked at a few possible venues for the Union in the city centre, and there is a new potential venue coming to the market. o Looking forward to the next Student Talent Show on 14th February. ENGAGEMENT o Assisted several student groups in organising events and function within the City Centre o Goaling and Goating with students during Lunch breaks to guage their opinion of what – Events the students would like to see - How they would improve the Union’s events and entertainment. It is worth highlighting, that I have concerns as to how many students have said that the Union building feel like the union offices, as they feel it is union’s space rather than their space? Will clarify on this more in detail. REPRESENTATION o I have had discussions with the University around the Student’s managing to make the most of the campus. o Concerning discussion with estates who informed me that the reason there has been no movement on the student base is that the Union haven’t gotten back to them still?
