Work in groups to test your skills and solve puzzles to escape the room in the quickest time possible. Demonstrate your teamwork, problem solving and communication skills in this activity – which is now being used by some employers in assessment centres as recruitment techniques. freshers wristband faq’s RGU:Union has teamed up with the city’s newest and biggest nightclub, Atik, to bring you a week full of massive headline events, from top DJ sets, wild theme parties, celebrity appearances, meet and greets and much more! You can be part of every event by buying an RGU Freshers 18 wristband.

What is a freshers wristband?

Our Freshers wristbands will get you free entry to all RGU Freshers Week 2018 events being held at Atik Nightclub from 8th-15th September, plus FreshFest 2018 on Tuesday 11th September. Valid events are noted throughout this booklet, to find out more about each of them visit the Union website at www.rguunion.co.uk/freshers

do you have to be over 18 to buy a wristband?

Yes, Atik is an 18+ venue due to the alcohol license in place. This means that we can only sell Freshers wristbands to over 18s.

what if i turn 18 during freshers, can i buy a wristband?

Yes, you are allowed to buy a wristband if you will be 18 during Freshers, however you will not be able to collect it until you turn 18. You will need to bring ID in order to pick up your wristband.

do you need id to buy a wristband? Yes, you will need to bring photo ID (passport or driving licence) with you when collecting your wristband to prove that you are over 18.

if i am under 18 and can’t buy a wristband, what is there for me to do during freshers?

We understand that it can be frustrating if you are not 18 during Freshers, and we don’t want you to miss out on some of our biggest events, so we have tried hard to make as many events as possible on our line-up open to all ages. Look out for the green tick next to each listing throughout this booklet. Over three quarters of our Freshers events are open to all ages, including our Freshers Free Film Festival, Live Music & Late Night Acoustic Sessions, many events hosted by our student societies, plus our annual FreshFest event. You can buy a FreshFest wristband for only £5, which will give you access to the same great discounts and offers as our main Freshers wristband (find out more about these on our website), plus entry to FreshFest 2018 at the Beach Ballroom on 11th September.

CAN MY PARENTS or somebody else BUY MY WRISTBAND FOR ME?

Of course, this happens a lot! If somebody else has offered to buy your Freshers wristband for you, simply get them to buy this from our website and then add your name to the order at the checkout (it will ask you for ‘Student Name’ and ‘Student Date of Birth’).

i have bought my wristband online, how do i get it?

Wristbands are available for collection only, there are no delivery options available. We will have the following wristband collection points set up during Freshers 2017: Saturday 8th September Sunday 9th September Monday 10th - Friday 14th September

do i have to buy my wristband online?

We will have wristband sales points available during Freshers if you would rather pay with cash (see times and locations above), but as these wristbands are extremely popular and we only have limited stock it is strongly suggested that you order yours through the Union website before you arrive to avoid disappointment.

can i buy a wristband for my friend?

Wristbands are limited to one per person, so you will not be able to purchase more than one. When you collect your wristband, it will be put on your wrist by our staff, therefore you will not be able to buy for another person.

my friend is not an rgu student, can they buy a wristband?

Of course, if you have friends that study at Aberdeen University, NESCOL, or any other University or College, they can also buy a wristband to get access to our RGU Freshers events. rgu:
