MONTHLY REPORT (Ref.001) NAME: Rachel Sanders ELECTED POST: RAG Chair DATE: 20.1.14 Update and achievements from previous month • Festive Food Drive across campus proved successful along with the day of packing food parcels • Raised in excess of £5,700 in semester 1 for a number of local, national and international charities (not including funds raised from challenge events) Outline and plan, with timeline, for current month • • • • • • •

Planning for RAG Week (8th to 16th Feb) Launching RAG Collection Bucket Scheme RAG information to be updated on Website Working with AUCC in regards to Torcher Parade Supporting Challenge event team leaders with upcoming fundraising deadlines Continuing to support events management students with their projects Continued communication with a number of charities regarding potential future projects

Personal objectives/Manifesto update Growing RAG Continued engagement from volunteers at events More Local Volunteering and Community Engagement Exploring local volunteering with Guide Dogs in the community. Exploring potential community projects for the end of term. International Challenges and Volunteering Challenge participants are continuing to fundraise with the support of their team leader, looking to introduce another trekking opportunity to students. RAG Recognition RGU to feature in the 2nd NaSFA newsletter to be published to RAGs across the country. Contact made with Evening Express about potential support for future events


Continuing Relations with Charities and RAGs RGU:RAG has been asked to host the first regional NaSFA meeting bringing together RAG to share best practice and ideas. Been invited to the Student Adventures Charity selection day. Team objectives/progress update Strategic Themes Community • Exploring community volunteering opportunities and events to engage students in the local community. • Encouraging student community, hoping to have RAG Week presence on Campus Engagement • A range of events that are local to RGU as well as exploring events that are further afield such as challenge events • Supporting students with volunteering and fundraising events they have sourced locally Representation • Representing RGU:RAG at NaSFA Support • Supporting societies and sport clubs in their fundraising efforts • Supporting individual students in their fundraising efforts Development • Developing RAG policies in order to ensure guidelines are in place for successful running of RAG • Continued use of communication methods; using Wired, Bulletin and Radar magazine Campaign(s) proposal outline (Please remember to submit your completed campaign form.)
