MONTHLY REPORT (Ref.001) NAME: Paul Greene ELECTED POST: President (Communications & Democracy) DATE: 17/02/15 Update and achievements from previous month Community -

Met with Rob Henthorn, NUS Scotland & AUSA, to discuss General Election awareness campaign further.

-

Met with representatives from NESCOL with Stefan, Michele, Christine and Annette Davidson to talk about how the institutions and unions could support each other.

-

Contacted student president at Glasgow Caley to discuss our review of IT resources, and how they could support this at RGU.

Engagement -

Manned media stall at refreshers week and took students on walking tours of the campus.

-

Met with a range of students regarding charity events and promotional support for events and initiatives.

Representation -

Represented student body on a range of working groups including student partnership ‘building atmospheres theme’, at the on-going ‘student facing review of IT resources’ group, timetabling, committees such as ‘LISC’ and ‘TLASC’ & assisted in the parking permit working group meetings.

Support -

Usual weekly comms on social media with 'Wired' going out to students on a Monday to provide updates on ways students can get

involved with Union and promote the services we offer.

Supporting events promotion such as ‘I love my lecturer’, the AGM, elections and the student achievement awards ball.

Development -

Advertised and helped shortlist, interview and appoint candidates for the two internship roles.

Developed handbook for submitting motions to the AGM and sent to all students & published on website.

Outline and plan, with timeline, for current month -

Help promote and organise ‘I love my lecturer’, the ‘AGM’, elections and the student achievement awards ball – Throughout March.

To 'GOAT' and 'GOAL' more, with some specific actions to speak to people about upcoming campaigns and elections – (Monthly)

General election campaign awareness – Throughout March & April.

Represent RGU at devolution stakeholders event with secretary of state.

Representation at various committees throughout March, and attendance at Glasgow Caley Uni ELIR Review.
