FATHERS KNOW BEST BY FATHER WAKULICH being summoned? Not at all. Many non-religious people believe in ghosts. Interestingly, ghosts confirm for those who study Catholic theology that life after death does exist. Are ghosts real? And what do exorcisms really look like? Ghost or non-bodied spirits often do appear to the living. The word ghost originates from Geist, German for spirit. There is nothing contradictory between ghosts and Catholic theology. Non-bodied spirits occasionally appear on earth, but do not “live”on earth any longer. They are either in 1 of 3 places: heaven, purgatory, or hell. If in heaven or purgatory, their presence was allowed by God for our good. If the ghost is from hell, this demonic spirit does not seek your good. Ghosts made their appearance in the Bible too. You may not know the story of the witch of Endor in 1 Samuel. The witch summoned the long deceased Samuel at the request of King Saul. Was Samuel happy about

Why does the RCC grant annulments? Are the children produced in those relationships now considered illegitimate? No, the child is not considered illegitimate. An annulment is granted when a couple provides sufficient data that their marriage was not valid on the date of their wedding. The civil marriage, which occurred simultaneously to the religious, is valid. Research must discover what caused this marriage to be invalid. Examples of marriages that were found invalid: wife only wanted to be married to husband for a short period

of time until she met her real husband. #starterhusband. Or girlfriend’s dad tells young man, “my daughter’s pregnant, you gonna marry her now.” Or the famous “well I wasn’t planning on being faithful to my spouse.” “We don’t love each other anymore” is not grounds for annulment. Those people need to go on a date, slow down the career rat race, and rekindle their love.

Are priests allowed to get tattoos? If so, would you ever consider getting one? I have none and would never get one. No Catholic teaching opposes drawing on your body with ink; but remember your body is a dwelling of the Holy Trinity.

months. While deployed overseas, I took a friend to get an impulsive tattoo at 11pm. Not a wise decision for him. His tat turned out terrible. 3 months, wait 3 months, that’s my rule on large life purchases. Below is some advice from Catholic writer Matt Fradd. 1. The images should not be immoral, such as sexually explicit, Satanic, or in any way opposed to the truths and teachings of Christianity. 2. Be prudent. While “Mom” is probably a safe bet, tattooing your current girlfriend’s name on your arm probably isn’t. 3. Consider the arguments against tattooing (there’s bound to be a good website out there devoted to that). Just because the Church doesn’t prohibit getting one doesn’t mean that you should. Consider the following question: Would you put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari?

If you decide you can’t live without a tattoo...wait 3
