He currently also conducts the William Byrd Singers of Manchester, two youth choirs and a youth orchestra, and works extensively promoting and developing choral singing and conducting at all levels.
You can join us at any time of the year. You will need to undertake an audition, but don't worry, our Musical Director is very friendly and sympathetic! Rehearsals are held in Liverpool University on Wednesday evenings between September and May from 6.45pm to 9.00pm. Rehearsals are hard work but great fun, helping us to realise our aim, which is: The study and practice of choral music in order to foster the public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance. AUTUMN 2012 SUMMER 2013 Performances regularly take place at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. In addition, the choir is committed to taking its special brand of music into the community of Merseyside, and working in partnership with many organisations, bringing quality singing to local people. The choir also enjoys and appreciates the relationship with the Northop Silver Band. It has established a strong partnership with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, with which its association goes back 99 years. Winning critical acclaim for its performances of the great choral classics, the Liverpool Welsh Choral is equally at home singing grand opera and popular music and has broadcast many times for the BBC.

First performed on Good Friday in 1868 with text derived from the German Lutheran Bible, the Requiem was intended as a humanist approach to life. Also being performed are Haydn's Insane et vanae curae and Mozart's Exsultate jubilate.
