Dear Parents/Guardians, Re: Cefn Lea Camp – Summer 2018 We will be meeting on Monday 2nd July at 9.00am at Brave Church, Watson Street, Oswaldtwistle and aim to return around 3.30pm on Friday 6th July. We meet at Brave Church because there is more parking space and staff will be there from 8.30am. We will be travelling to Cefn Lea by coach and stopping on the way so please ensure your child has a packed lunch or money to buy food at the services. All meals are provided for the remainder of the trip. We hope to arrive at the site around 2.00pm. We are really looking forward to camp this year and have an action packed week planned. Most of the activities require casual clothing which is practical and inexpensive. They will also need a set of clothes and footwear that they can get wet. Thursday night is an award/prom style night and students can dress up in their smart clothes if they so wish. The cabins have their own kitchens and basic cooking utensils, however students are not permitted to use these unless supervised. Students are solely responsible for looking after/managing their money. Any valuables the students bring with them are also student’s sole responsibility. Staff cannot be held responsible for looking after money/mobile phones/tablets etc. Please note that mobile reception is limited on the site. There is a pay phone which students can use.

Any on site medical issues will be dealt with by Qualified First Aiders Mr Breckell and Miss Hargreaves. You will not be contacted for minor injuries but you will be informed of anything more serious should the need arise. Students are expected to follow the same health, safety and behaviour policies as if they were at school and follow all instructions given by any member of the team whilst on the trip. We thank you for your support with the above and this will help to ensure your child has a great week as we aim to create wonderful memories for them. Students will need to bring the following:
Towels and toiletries Plenty of everyday clothing Sleeping bag and pillow Optional food/snacks Waterproof coat and optional clothing for wet activities Any required medication Sun tan lotion Suitable footwear Torch Optional spending money Smart/casual clothes for Prom night
Due to limited luggage space available on the coach we ask that each student only bring one small case/bag and one item of hand luggage. We are holding a ‘Meet the Team’ evening on Monday 18th June at 6pm in school. Both the staff from Brave Church and school will be at the meeting to answer any questions and you will be shown a film of last year’s camp.
