Dear Parent or Guardian, We have arranged to take 50 of our Year 7 students on a residential activity course to Manor Adventure at Lockerbie from 25/02/13 to 27/02/13. It is well known that residential courses organised by schools are becoming increasingly invaluable as part of the National Curriculum. Indeed, the Government has placed on record the beneficial effects on a child’s progress that such courses provide. They offer new and exciting challenges and by living with their peers and working together in a team environment, help develop independence, confidence and an ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses in a constructive way. The value of giving children the opportunity to try out new outdoor pursuits cannot be underestimated. From the physically weak to the strong, from slow to fast learners, everyone learns to respect and value each other’s ability and their own. At Manor Adventure fully trained and qualified instructors, with the support of school staff, provide instruction in a full programme of outdoor pursuits in a safe, controlled and secure environment. The outdoor pursuits available include Climbing, Abseiling, Archery and Canoeing The total cost of the visit to Manor Adventure is £99 and includes transportation, full board accommodation, all instruction and activities, equipment, safety equipment and achievement certificates. We will hold a Parents’ Evening to discuss the visit once we have all deposits. This will give you the opportunity to find out more details and to have any queries answered. To apply for a place for your child, please complete the consent form below and return to me with £50 being the initial deposit, which must be as soon as possible in order to secure the booking. (Places on a first come, first serve basis). The balance must be paid by Friday 25th Jan 2013. I give my consent for my child to take part in the visit to Manor Adventure Lockerbie from 21/02/13 to 23/02/13 I confirm that I will pay for the total cost of £99 for the residential activity visit and enclose a £50 deposit. I understand that the deposit is not refundable once my child’s place has been confirmed.

Dear Parent/Carer Your son/daughter has expressed an interest in going on the Manor Adventure, Lockerbie trip. There is a non refundable deposit of £50 that needs to be paid to secure a place on the trip for your child. Once the deposit has been paid and you have signed the permission letter, this confirms that you are committed to paying the full amount of the trip. If your child changes their mind with regards to going on the trip once the deposit has been paid, the amount owing must still be paid for in full, as we will still be charged by the travel company and any monies already paid will not be reimbursed. If your child cannot make the trip for medical reasons, a doctor’s note will be required, covering your child for the period of the trip. In this instance, any monies paid (excluding the deposit) will be reimbursed to yourself. Could you please sign and return the confirmation and medical consent forms attached.
