09/01/13 Dear Parent/ Guardian, Today we have begun the Options process that will allow your child to choose the range of courses that they will follow during their Year 10 & Year 11 studies. As the Option choices and decisions that are to be made are of such importance to your child’s future, we believe that it is vital for Parents and students to engage in this process together. The purpose of this letter is to invite you to our Option Marketplace event on Wednesday 16th January. This event will allow Parents and students to speak with the staff and teachers who are responsible for planning and teaching the option courses next year. As well as a number of colleges and training providers to talk to, the information booklet containing details of all of the Option courses being offered at Rhyddings next year will be available to collect. To help Parents and students to understand what the learning in each subject area involves we are also planning to offer a Subject Taster evening on Wednesday 30th January where Parents and students will be given the opportunity to sample lessons that they may be interested in or curious about. This will be particularly useful in subjects that students have not studied during Years 7-9.
