8 November 2018 Dear Parent/Carer, RE
Progress Update – return to school Monday 12th November
I am delighted to report that the essential work and provision of alternative accommodation on the Rhyddings site has now been completed to a sufficient stage where we can open the school to pupils in all year groups. I want to assure you that we meet all the expected standards for health and safety compliance. There are still some ongoing works, contained within specific areas of the school, where the contractor will continue to develop our provision and resources. This will include the temporary science laboratories and relocation of our ICT suites, which will take a few days longer but should be released back to us in due course. The curriculum will run as normal and pupil subject timetables will remain the same, but with some room changes. Pupils will be notified and directed accordingly throughout the week. Allowances will be made for punctuality to lessons during the first few days on our return, until they know their room changes. Lunches will continue to be provided, with a reduced service in the first few days, but all pupils will receive a meal. Of course, you may wish to opt for a packed lunch if you prefer. We are still working hard to resume our full catering service and again we will keep you updated on our progress. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support during this difficult period. I would also like to extend my thanks to the pupils and staff, who have coped magnificently and finally Mr Tolson, Headteacher of Hameldon and his staff for all they have done for us. Yours sincerely,
Mr Andrew Williams Headteacher
