Crawford Partnership, working as executive architects and designers, completed a new flagship kitchen showroom in Duke Street for Italian kitchen brand Rossana in 2015. The showroom has raised the bar in the heart of London’s kitchen Mecca. Having taken Rossana’s initial concept designs produced by leading Rome-based designer, Massimo Castagna, developed and realised this design incorporating the detailed design, construction and fitting-out works, which have transformer the space. The showroom area was acquired by Rossana as an unfinished shell housed over two levels, and the brief was to design a showroom which suitably displayed and reflected the qualities of the products which evoke the highest quality in design, materials and construction. Visitors to the showroom can appreciate and enjoy some of the most innovative products from the beautifully crafted range of Rossana kitchens that are displayed in unique settings carved from the overall volume of space, providing an ambience that is at once minimal and dramatic and intended to provide a hands-on introduction to the Rossana kitchen range, whilst at the same time offering inspirational interior design ideas during their journey of discovery.

The two levels of the showroom incorporate a limited pallet of natural finishes which have been selected to both enhance and complement the kitchen installations, with the overall space unified by introducing flamed antique Farsena stone throughout as a monolithic, seamless floor finish running throughout the showroom’s floors including the bespoke open-riser staircase, visually connecting the two levels as part of an overall composition.
