olo in Toronto was played prior to the turn of the century, and then more actively in the 1920s and 30s at Woodbine Racetrack and the Armoury on Avenue Road. Kindersley—decided that polo would make a great arena game to fill the void of equestrian events throughout the winter months. They began to play in the arena on the estate of Sir Clifford Sifton, located at Lawrence Avenue (now the Toronto French School), and brought in Doc Roberts, the coach at Cornell University, to help them out.
