One cool autumn afternoon the Super-Dogs were relaxing when Ruffy got a call to say there was a huge fire in the world famous Kruger National Park. Ruffy rounded up the Dogs, and within minutes they had loaded their aircraft, and were on their way.
It had been a dry winter in Southern Africa and the spring rains were late. Lots of people were visiting the game park. The grass is low and the beautiful animals congregate at the water holes, which makes them easier to see.

Although there are lots of notices asking people not to get out of their cars or light fires people do not always obey the rules. A party visiting the park started a fire near a water hole to keep warm.
