Music Box — Master's Dissertation

9

summer semester

Abstract

— The music box confines fragile ballerinas and their dreams and desires. A sundry world of artificial finesse and art is hidden inside where beauty and suffering coexist. I was inspired by ballet and its transformation and stiffness over time. My collection is based on the fragility of classical ballet costume called Tutu. I want to enrich the classic and serious form of Tutu by exaggeration and humour that I often miss in classical dance expression. My goal is to mirror the youthfulness and energy of dancers in my collection based on the classic ballet costume. My thesis is willing to mirror energy and youthfulness of ballet performers into the rigid ballet costume. Keywords: music box, dance, ballet, tutu, transparency, vitality, wit

Albatross — Bachelor's Thessis

65

summer semester

Abstract

— The world full of unruly huge waves, mysterious depths and toiling heroes that proudly run their tawny faces towards the crystals of the sea salt – the world which swallowed me up. That was why I had decided to dedicate my bachelor thesis to it. I tried to transfer my own ideas of the beautifully cruel ocean to my collection. My inspiration was partly in a sailor uniform which I finally eliminated to the details. Details were essential for me and I tried to evolve them. Important thought was a metamorphosis of human-sailor into bird-albatross. I chose a white color scheme for my collection – the color scheme uniquely offers itself for my signifiant message. Keywords: ocean, mythology, uniformity, individuality, detail, metamorphosis, gooney bird
