CORRIDOR - NORTH ELEVATION
CORRIDOR - SOUTH ELEVATION
02 / CONNECT CORRIDOR The main corridor through the space follows the same concept driven design framework as the reception feature wall. Working with the diagonal and vibrant lines brainstormed in the initial design, this wall serves as an artery to articulate various functions of the office, such as printing, a private lounge, and different sized meeting spaces.
PERSPECTIVE VIEW FROM WORK LOUNGE
02 / MAIN WORK LOUNGE The main lounge and work cafe area is a space for informally meeting as well as a zone where larger events can take place. The varied seating allows for many different work postures, different types of meetings, as well as informal interactions. LOUNGE - WEST ELEVATION

The dining room is an informal gathering space that flexes to provide small “grab and go” items for hikers from the interior as well as the exterior. Visitors can choose to eat inside of the building or move throughout the adjacent amphitheater and outdoor seating area. Pendant fixtures were chosen to reflect nests and industrial qualities while seating is primarily based on utilitarian need.

07 / HKS MID ATLANTIC DESIGN FELLOWSHIP use / nature center type / fellowship organization / HKS architects location / washington, dc date / spring 2018 The following is process work from a week long charette as part of the HKS Mid-Atlantic Design Fellowship produced from a brief which asked me and a team of two designers to reuse the RFK football stadium. A redevelopment of the stadium positions learning as a driver for community engagement. While restoring the natural wetlands with programs like living classrooms, nonprofits, urban gardens and more. By fostering the relationship between humans and nature, we can serve all of D.C.’s diverse communities.

09 / SIDE BY SIDE CAMP use / afterschool program, space planning, concept type / studio project organization / middle of broad studio (mOb), side by side location / richmond, va date / spring 2018 The following process work is from a project I lead involving a team of design students working with the organization Side-By-Side, a LGBT youth center. The client asked us to analyze their current layout and space uses and propose a creative solution to propose to their board. We worked directly with employees and youth to develop scheme around the concept of a “summer camp” for their existing building which accommodated their future growth.
