No, I wouldn’t want to start either. My mum used to grow fruits when I was younger, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, gooseberries, strawberries and potatoes. I wouldn’t mind trying to grow tomatoes but I’m scared of insects and I hate getting my hands dirty and plus I haven’t got a garden. I think growing food is very organic because you know it’s fresh with no chemicals, and it would save you money.
No, not personally, my parents used to when I was a baby, I can remember the tomatoes. I would like to grow non-common fruit like lemon or tangerine trees but the weather puts me off. Homegrown food, you know where it comes from, you know here its been, you know it hasn’t been shat on. I would possibly start in the future if I get a garden. I thought old people usually do it, the younger generation are not usually interested in it.

Yes, I grow quite a lot of my own fruits and vegetables but not enough to stop going to the supermarket. I grow Potatoes, leaks, lettuce, beans, carrots, strawberries, raspberries, basal, mint, coriander I guess I’m limited because of the weather these days. I started last year during the summer because I moved to a house with a garden. Its a relaxing exercise which me and my boyfriend both enjoy doing together, it can get tiring but I find it very rewarding. My parents used to grow everything they eat back in Portugal. The food is always tastier and healthier with no pesticides, no comparison to supermarket food.
No, I wouldn’t even know how to start something like that. I thought it was hard to grow anything with weather like this in London. I would grow fruits, plums, strawberries, blueberries because they are my favourite fruit, I would grow kiwi’s but I don’t think you can grow them in this country. I live in a block and I’ve never had a garden which could be the reason I know nothing about it.

No, I have had no experience in working with plants. I would want to start but I have no garden that I could grow in. You can get much fresher food that is better for you, but it takes to long to grow. I don’t see myself spending a lot of time gardening.
Yes I do, I grow Corn, spring onions, lettuce, beetroot, broccoli, tomatoes. I mainly grow because I’m interested in the leaves, something different, the food is just a by-product. I usually give it away to friends, we tend to share our produce, my friends grow fruit and I mainly grow vegetables then we swap. The garden doesn’t need much management at all but I see it as sort of a workout with the digging, however very therapeutic because I’m able to switch off from work/stress and problems. Its good for the wildlife, and compost you can use again and again. Some instances I stopped going to the supermarket but only for a short while. The food is tastier than store bought and piece of mind knowing everything is fresh.

Yes, I have grown tomatoes before but that was a long time ago when I used to live with my parents. Its nice to see the stages at which it grows, and all it needs is water and sun. I found that bugs ruining the food is the main problem however there is a great satisfaction in eating what you’ve grown, because its you who made it from just a seed. It can help save money, but weather could restrict how fast things grow.
