Founder and CEO of Eat Clean Phx, Ryan Powell describes his style as having “casual athletic vibes” – an expected response from someone who spends his days on the go. Running the local meal delivery service calls for a combination of athleisure wear and athletic staples that are sharp yet functional. As such, Powell’s signature look is Lululemon from head to toe, with the exception of his company’s branded T-shirt. “I love that you can find everything from gym attire to slacks and a button-down shirt in the Lululemon store,” he says. As for color palette, you’ll typically find Powell in an ensemble of mostly black, white, gray and blue. “Solids have always been my thing. I’ve never been much of a pattern guy,” says Powell, noting he adds a clean pair of white shoes to complete any ensemble. When he’s not delivering healthy meals or curating new recipes in his flagship kitchen, Powell trades his athleisure look for items from Ted Baker and styles inspired by fashion icon David Beckham. “He can pull off a white V-neck with jeans or a three-piece suit,” the father of two says.
What is your most prized possession? I’ve got a pair of limited-edition self-lacing Jordan’s that I’ll hold onto forever. If someone looked in my closet they would say “this guy loves shoes!”
How do you transition your look from day to night? At work I am in a fast-paced kitchen making meals for the Valley. It tends to get messy. Cleaning up, doing my hair and putting on some fresh clothes always feels good when the workday ends!
What is your fashion advice for other men on the go? Don’t overdo it. Sometimes less is more.
