Highway lane closed for repairs

A section of Highway 99 in Richmond will be closed overnight for the next few weeks so repairs can be done to an overpass

Drivers are being advised that Highway 99 southbound will be down to one lane at Cambie Road to allow crews to repair the overpass.

The work will be car- ried out from 9 p m until 5 a m , Sundays through Thursdays

There will be no closures overnight on Fridays and Saturdays Work began Tuesday and is expected to be completed by Feb 20

Drivers are asked to use caution and obey signage, traffic-control personnel and the construction zone speed limit

The overpass was the scene of a bad accident last June, when a commercial truck’s load smashed into the bridge and then fell on another truck
