Love, War, and Responsibility At what expense does one tell the difficult truths of war? Correspondents and photojournalists working in conflict zones risk not only the loss of life itself, they also face the dangers of physical injuries and psychological distress. They pay the toll of being away from home for long periods of time, of dealing with the re-adjustment of returning to a normal life. They risk the breakdown of relationships between loved ones and friends, and question the direction their lives have taken and where life is headed. In spite of the risks, journalists will never give up covering war as long as conflict persists in the world. So why do they do it? Why do they return repeatedly to war zones? The question remains a point of debate and a difficult one to answer. A few embedded journalists admit to being a war junkie. For some, there is nothing like the pulse of an adrenaline rush that comes from covering war. But most of them say they keep going back because they have a sense of personal obligation, a responsibility to bear witness to the atrocities. They have a need to tell the stories of those most effected by the ravages of war and a need to relay history to people. They have a passion and a mission to bring the world information that is important. Why do they do it? It’s their job. It’s what they do. Sonnie Osborne Director theatreworks.us

This is Erin’s third production on the TheatreWorks Main Stage, after appearing as Gloria in Boeing Boeing and Lala Levy in The Last Night of Ballyhoo. She is also marking her first year as a board member here at TheatreWorks. It is not very often that a show comes along where the director, cast, crew and set fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Time Stands Still is one of those rare productions that has all of the elements to become something extraordinary, and under the tactful hand of Sonnie Osborne, it has. Erin is so thankful to Sonnie for her patience and advice; her fellow cast members for being exquisite and wonderful in all that they do; tech and stage crew for lighting and guiding the way; and her family and friends for their unwavering support. She is thrilled to share this beautiful theatre experience with all of you and hopes that this play is one that you’ll never forget.
