Chamber of commerce & Tourism

March 2011

Opportunity to Save Tooele Historical Building T

he Tooele County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism has embarked on a Capital Building fund campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to raise funds to finish the remodeling of a permanent home for the Chamber. This fund was started many years ago by some of the founding members. Their contributions made it possible to purchase the building and do the initial work. The Chamber of Commerce and its Board are determined to secure the additional funds to continue their vision. This building, when completed, will allow us as a Chamber to continue to serve the business community and promote tourism through our welcome center for Tooele County. The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization, not a government body with taxing authority. The Chamber functions from the dues of its members and fund raising events. Funds raised by the Chamber have been rolled back into promotional venues for businesses such as the “Business Expo – Taste of Tooele,” “Come Together Campaign,” Chamber Resource Directory, Educational Business Seminars and numerous annual events for the community including the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Santa Parade. The Chamber of Commerce is in need of your help and is asking for you to make a one-time capital contribution for the Chamber. When you contribute we will display your business or individual name on our Heritage Wall, which will be displayed in the lobby of our completed building for generations to come. The Chamber of Commerce will accept any donation amount so that

all community members can be a part of this historic project. The old clinic will indeed be restored to fulfill a great purpose for our community by becoming the new Chamber Headquarters. The Chamber has been in existence for

over 60 years and will certainly continue to outlive all of us. By making a donation you can become one of the original stakeholders in the new Chamber Headquarters. This building will be an asset to the community for years to come.
