But there are plenty of things you can do to boost your home’s appeal to sell it faster. Don’t wait around for months to get an offer. Be proactive and try some of these tips to sell your home quickly at top dollar. One great way to get your current home sold quickly is to stage it. Via home staging, you normally hire someone who will help improve the flow of your home, eliminate clutter, and make your home appear bigger and brighter. But you can also incorporate some of those same techniques in lieu of investing in a professional.

Give Your Yard Attention

A cousin to decluttering, depersonalizing important as well. Think like a buyer. They want to imagine what the home will look like when they live there. Put away all the dog toys and kids’ clothes. And limit family photos on the walls and on the fridge.

Cleaning up your yard and making it look welcoming will do two things for sellers: attract more eyes and make your home look better. A beautiful yard that is well landscaped and free of weeds will attract more potential buyers. Boosting curb appeal adds value to your home. Improvements will give you a greater return on investment. Fixing siding, adding stone walkways or outdoor lighting, upgrading a mailbox, or adding outdoor furniture to a front porch will go a long way.

Clean and Declutter Now is the time to channel your inner neat freak. A potential buyer wants to see your home as move in ready when they view it. A spotless kitchen and shining bathroom fixtures go a long way to impressing a potential buyer. After all, who wants to see junk mail sitting on a kitchen counter or dried toothpaste in a kitchen sink? Convey to the buyer that your home is so clean that they could move in right away – that’s what you’re going for after all! Secondly, remove anything from your home you don’t use daily. Donate items or put them in storage. Don’t just shove off-season clothes or decorations into closets or other storage space. A buyer wants to see all the places they can store their things, they don’t want to see a closet stuffed to the gills with your flannel shirts or Christmas decorations.

Paint Buyers want to see a fresh, clean space when they visit your home. By painting inside and out, you have the chance to apply a neutral tone throughout the home. A new coat means no fingerprints or smudges on the walls.

And finally, if you want to sell your home quickly, price it smartly. Don’t set your asking price too high – look at comparable homes and try to find a price that will make you and a potential buyer happy to move quickly.

CREATE A STYLISH HOME OFFICE

IN A LIMITED SPACE With more people working from home and the trend expected to continue, many who’ve been co-opting the kitchen table are looking for better ideas. From designers focused on meeting this need, here are four simple and workable ideas that won’t break the bank:

Create a moveable work zone. Turn the

area behind your sofa or in a corner of your bedroom into a comfy work space by day that knows its place in the evening. Start with a lightweight, sit-or-stand desk (many are now available at office furnishings stores) that can be moved out of the way after the work day. A flexible wire shelf unit installed along one wall can hold supplies, such as notebooks, pens and a printer, and you can roll your desk and chair right up against them when it’s time to replace the coffee cup with a glass of wine.

Clear out a closet. The closet in a second bedroom can easily house a hideaway office. Install modular wire shelving along the back wall, add a desk and some extra interior

lighting and keep your office behind closed doors. A rolling desk chair or a balance ball can provide comfy seating, and a small bookcase can easily accommodate files or surplus supplies.

Go for invisible. In the living room, you can create a low-profile office with a glass topped, Lucite or acrylic desk that won’t dominate the space. Even go for a slimline desk you can spray paint to blend in with the wall behind it and use existing bookshelves in the room to hold your printer and supplies. Use a room divider. Carve out a corner of your living room or bedroom for a small but usable office and conceal it from view whenever you wish.
