A Noble And Visionary Leader: Turning Properties from Unliveable to a Place To Call Home Angelo Butera, President The Butera Group When I sat down with President of Panoramic Properties Inc., Angelo Butera, my intention was to explore what lead him to growing an empire in the real estate world. I was also curious about his journey and how he came to land in a world where he has been able to thrive and create monumental success. I have personally explored some of his properties and there is without a doubt, a clear definition of craftsmanship in his work, attention to detail and a methodical process for beautifying his properties while ensuring the wellbeing of his clients. In my interview with Angelo, he exhumed humility and passion, and expressed excitement when we discussed real estate, building businesses and his passion and focus on the finer details when it comes to creating beautiful properties for people to enjoy. Angelo stated that his focus when it comes to property acquisitions is on finding those “diamonds in the rough”, those properties that most investors would look away from. Paired with talented members of his team, including his son, Angelo focuses on the vision he has when it comes to transforming properties, and with his trust and confidence in his team, they unquestionably deliver excellence in quality and skilfulness into each of their properties.
Angelo started his journey immigrating from Italy, he was a passionate sculptor, focusing on the finer details and workmanship. When he arrived in Canada, he sought out various business acquisitions and ran different businesses for years, until he landed on a property that would change his path. Angelo got a taste of his first property investment in 1995, when he decided to think outside the parameters of geographical location, and decided to venture in outlying areas; he discovered a property that some would have deemed as “too much work”, however, Angelo saw the beauty in the property, and knew that with his ability to apply his craftsmen’s touch, paired with his visionary sense, grit and hard work, he acquired his first investment property. Angelo had a feat ahead of him, with most of the units being vacant, and with the property in poor condition, he still was able to see the potential in this investment. He began to work on the property with his team, and began to transform the space into a beautiful dwelling that at the time, caught the local media’s attention because of the workmanship and transformation that had occurred.

When I asked Angelo how he navigates challenging situations or stressful events, he humbly stated that for him he always trusts that things will work out, and he trusts the people that work with him to ensure that work flows efficiently and smoothly. His authentic demeanour was obvious that he seemed relaxed, poised and humbled; true markers of a man who is confident in his work, abilities and in his team.
Paying attention to detail is what Angelo is passionate about. I could see it and hear it in his voice when we spoke about the caliber of detail they put into their work. Angelo’s passion in the work he does is not only apparent in his properties, his team and staff all speak well and highly of the experience they have in working with Panoramic. Angelo expressed how much he values the people who work with him, because without them, there would be no success. Angelo is hands on, and not only does he make investments in properties that most investors would turn away from, Angelo sees the potential in properties that are deemed unusable; and he prides himself in his ability to envision what a new building could be and how it will add value to the community he works in.
