2021 National Conference “RE-ORIENTING”
Our Mission RID has played a leading role in establishing a national standard of quality for interpreters and transliterators. We encourage the growth of the profession, educate the public about the vital role of interpreters and transliterators and work to ensure equal opportunity and access for all individuals.
What We Do - Our Desired Future The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf envisions a future where the linguistic rights of Deaf people are recognized as equal to those of hearing people, and are supported by RID members; where interpreted interactions are as viable as direct communication; where RID’s activities and members demonstrate value for the Deaf community and its members; and where the interpreting profession is formally recognized and advanced by rigorous professional development, standards of conduct, and interpreter credentials.
