Rigi

Queen of the Mountains

www.rigi.com

Welcome to the Rigi The Rigi is a whole world of its own: two cogwheel railways, seven aerial cableways, hotels and restaurants, wellness in the Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Baths & Spa, numerous hiking trails with several summits to climb as well as summer and winter activities for adults and children. "Rigi television" – the panorama that made the Rigi so well-known – is the constant companion. The view roams over 13 lakes and a sea of jagged peaks: Säntis, Glarus, Urner and Bernese Alps, far in the west a few peaks in the Jura mountain range, and the Black Forest in the north. With optimal visibility, 24 of the 26 Swiss cantons can be spotted from Rigi Kulm. Welcome to the Queen of the Mountains.

Round Trips Majestic Round Trip An unbeatable classic – the "Majestic Round Trip" has been delighting young and old visitors for years. The combination of a boat trip on Lake Lucerne, the trip from Vitznau with Europe’s first cogwheel railway (1871) up the Rigi and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) train trip from Arth-Goldau back to Lucerne guarantees an eventful full-day or half-day excursion. Round trip tickets are available via the Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV) or SBB. Hiking Round Trip on Historic Trails Europe’s first mountain railway leads you from Vitznau to Rigi Kaltbad. From Rigi Kaltbad you hike along the route of the disused Rigi Scheidegg railway over a viaduct and through a tunnel to Rigi Scheidegg (7 km). The Rigi Scheidegg aerial cable car takes you back to Kräbel with a connection to the Arth-Goldau railway station. Ticket: RIGI BAHNEN AG "Wanderbillett" (hiking ticket). Hiking Round Trip with Wellness The journey to Küssnacht on the Rigi occurs by boat or train. You can conveniently reach Seebodenalp with the aerial cable car. You continue by foot to Känzeli and Rigi Kaltbad, where relaxation at the Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Baths & Spa is the order of the day. The aerial cable car from Rigi Kaltbad to Weggis brings you back to the foot of Mount Rigi. Round trip tickets are available via SGV or SBB (excl. admission to the Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Baths & Spa). "Summiteer" Hiking Round Trip This hiking round trip invites summiteers to witness unknown Rigi panoramas that are off the beaten track. You ride with the aerial cable car from Brunnen to Urmiberg. On the mountain hiking trail (marked blue) you hike via Hochflue and Gätterli to Obergschwend. The aerial cable car brings you to Rigi Burggeist, and you hike on beautiful hiking trails to Hinterbergen. The aerial cable car brings you comfortably to Vitznau from there.
