USAA
USAA has proven to be a consistent supporter of Fort Riley Family and MWR programs, and the installation’s men and women in uniform, along with their families. The organization has been a sponsor on this installation for many years. USAA support has made possible many Family and MWR events and initiatives. You might have seen USAA at events including Victory Fest, Fall Apple Day Festival and Christkindl Market. This year’s Big Game Watch Party, held at the Warrior Zone, was one to remember, as USAA brought along tons of signed NFL memorabilia to give away to program participants, along with hats, Super Bowl gameday programs and lots more. USAA began in 1922 as the United Services Automobile Association, with vehicle insurance for officers; today they offer their services to all military and their family members. Next time you see your friendly USAA representative at a Family and MWR event, stop by to thank them for their support.

Earn money from home with a portable career that travels with you from post to post Do you want to earn money from home? Do you enjoy working with children? If the answer is yes, check out the Family Child Care program! The FCC program recruits, trains and certifies military spouses who live on post and want to provide child care. FCC homes offer full-day, part-time and hourly care, and extended hours for children 4 weeks to 12 years of age. FCC homes have unique qualities making them the preferred child care choice for many families. Child and Youth Services currently has a need for more certified homes. When you become an FCC Provider, CYS provides free training, access to startup equipment, ongoing program support, and a subsidy program to help offset ex-
penses. FCC Providers have the earning potential of $26,000-$40,000 per year. If you are interested in supporting Fort Riley Soldiers and families by providing safe, high-quality child care in a home environment, an FCC orientation is held at 1:30 p.m. every Thursday at 6620 on Normandy Drive. For more information, call Child and Youth Services at (785) 240-2818.

The applicant, the applicant’s spouse, and anyone in the home over age 12 must pass several background checks. > Applicants who are selected must complete 40 hours of specified training prior to working with children to meet the Army standard. Training and Curriculum Specialists role model in FCC homes, helping providers develop as competent caregivers and teaching professionals. > Providers must also complete ongoing training in child development and guidance to become fully certified and maintain that certification.
