PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVE Project Overview The goal of this project is to build a one of a kind theme park located in Dallas, Texas showcasing Sony Pictures Entertainment’s content. The park will be divided into three sections: film, television, and animation. There will also be a courtyard where guests can enjoy various kinds of entertainment and shops, in addition to purchasing Sony merchandise without paying the Sony Park entrance fee.

Business Needs This project is necessary to expand Sony’s intellectual properties while uniting cultures within the company. Sony does not currently have a theme park to showcase their present and/or forthcoming franchises. Creating this park will not only bring awareness to the franchises under Sony, but also forge new bonds between consumers and fandoms.

Project Objective The objective of the theme park is to provide visitors with a unique experience of navigating through Sony’s most iconic films and television shows firsthand.

4

PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN PURPOSE Our Vision Statement Where the magic of Television, Animaition and Live-Action Films become a reality.

Purpose An integral aspect of any business is having a strong sense of organizational culture. This builds morale, progresses communication and facilitates creativity. Sony Entertainment is a company with extensive outreach, but lacks brand recognition. We felt combining intellectual properties would accelerate collaboration between Sony Entertainment employees. The most prevalent and integral divisions are Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, and building a theme park is a tangible amalgamation of these two divisions. This project induces collaboration between IP’s, emphasizing the monument that is Sony Pictures Entertainment and Television to it’s end users.

5

PROJECT DELIVERABLES Concept for theme park Provide a concept to build a theme park based on a combination of different films and television shows under Sony Pictures Entertainment and its subsidiaries.

Specifications for attractions Provide detailed descriptions of the main attractions under each section of the park.

Map for theme park Provide a map with the locations of each attraction within the theme park.

6

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - CONCEPT FOR THEME PARK Concept for theme park The concept for the Sonyverse is to bring together the marvelous worlds of Television, Animation and LiveAction Film. This allows fans to disperse into the worlds of their favorite Sony content. The Sonyverse will feature themed rides, eateries, and other forms of unique and revolutionary entertainment opportunities in a family-friendly environment.

Ticket Booth

DESCRIPTION Sonyverse will have two ticket booths parallel to each other at the entrance of the park to minimize lines and direct traffic efficiently.

Location: Courtyard 7

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - CONCEPT FOR THEME PARK’S COURTYARD NANNY’S SOUVENIR SHOP

DESCRIPTION If there’s one topic America’s favorite nanny knows everything about it’s shopping. Inspired by the fashions of the 90’s hit sitcom The Nanny, guests will be able to pick up their favorite Sony characters, and must have items, with style and flare.

BENCHMARK The souvenir shop will be based off of the Regali Luxuri start-up Gift Shop plan.

Location: Courtyard

8

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - CONCEPT FOR THEME PARK’S COURTYARD PIXL NIGHTCLUB AND ARCADE

DESCRIPTION Inspired by video game characters featured in the movie Pixels, Pixl is a both a lounge and an arcade. Pixl is the perfect place for guests to indulge in nostalgic video games while listening to the latest music. Upon entering, guests will find holographic projections of the classic video game characters such as Pacman, Space Invaders, and Qbert, as they are featured in the movie. The bar area will include an 8-bit Donkey Kong bar accompanied by 8-bit pixelated furniture. Another section of the lounge will be dedicated to an arcade where guests will have the opportunity to play the latest Sony video games as well as the old school classics.

BENCHMARK

Location: Courtyard Age Interest: 21 and over

There are a number of similar lounges that exist as a combination of arcade games and music. One of them is Stereo Arcade which is a club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. According to Tripadvisor, this club has been rated number 5 out of 47 and has a 4.5 rating. Customers have raved that this is one of the best clubs they have ever experienced as it provides a unique atmosphere to experience both music and the world of video games. Sonyverse will create something similar with the same premise using Sony video games, which will include both old and new games. There are no current arcade music lounges in Dallas, Texas making this the perfect opportunity to create a unique experience for clubgoers in the area 9 under Sony.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - CONCEPT FOR THEME PARK’S COURTYARD BLUE MOON DINER

DESCRIPTION Throwing it back to a more simple time, the Blue Moon Diner gives Sonyverse Park attendants the chance to experience an authentic sock-hoppin1950’s inspired diner. Drop a coin in the jukebox, learn to dance a quick jive with the waitresses and enjoy the sweet crooning of the late Elvis Presley.

BENCHMARK The Blue Moon Diner shares in similarities with California’s Mel’s Drive-In which originally cost $131,000 in 1991, or $236,033.92 after the current inflation rate of 74.8%.

Location: Courtyard

10

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS WHEEL OF FORTUNE ROLLER COASTER

Park: Television Height Requirement: 48 and over Age Interest: 13 and older Thrill Level: Intense

DESCRIPTION This ride is based upon the Wheel of Fortune game show, from which it receives its shape, mimics the rotations of a spinner. The ride is a single looping track playing on the concepts of anticipation, suspense, anxiety and unbridled thrills making full revolutions both forward and reverse seven stories high. This thriller intends to emulate the same feelings of rush and excitement experienced when watching Wheel of Fortune. The ride travels both backwards and forward at top speed revolutions. Upside down at 70 feet high and seats 24 passengers. It is a matter of momentum that finally takes riders, seated face-to-face or back-to-back, looping full speed around the single circular track up to seven stories high, only to stop and suspend riders upsidedown before reversing direction for more thrills and fun.

BENCHMARK Based upon the Dare Devil roller coaster and its success in Six Flags, this attraction will excite and fright our audience.

11

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS BREAKING BAD SHOOTOUT

DESCRIPTION The concept for this attraction is a Breaking Bad inspired multiplayer paintball game. The obstacle course will be inspired by the desolate desert in the final shootout scene of the critically acclaimed series. In the Breaking Bad Shootout, visitors will be able to choose their roles (cops or dealers), complete with uniforms and very distinctive paintball weapons designed and inspired by Heisenberg. Another exciting feature is the “grenade,” or color bombs, which will be used to ensure everyone on the field gets a taste of the action. Guests have two gameplay styles,”Team Deathmatch,” such as cops versus dealers, and “Classic Deathmatch”, where everybody plays against each other.

BENCHMARK Park: Television Height Requirement: 30” and over Age Interest: 16 and older Thrill Level: Intense

12

Based upon the Gamification and high set production of Hollywood Sports, we want to create a space that emulates the authentic intensity and set design of Breaking Bad. We will utilize the latest in paintball technology such as TPX paintball pistols and Tacamo Storm, and employ actors to lead and excite the players.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA

DESCRIPTION Inspired by the animation Hotel Transylvania, where guests will embark on a tour of the castle. Entering the queuing area, visitors can take photographs with decorations leading guests toward the castle. Guests enter the castle through a doorway, greeted by a short opening video clip from Hotel Transylvania characters. After the video, a pair of sliding doors open to the slower-paced rollercoaster ride. The ride features the Hotel Transylvania resort, where monsters are free to be themselves without harrassment. Visitors will get to see creatures like the Invisible Man, the Mummy and other monsters and hear their stories with visuals and sound effects. Ending the ride guests transform into bats, and fly out of a window with Dracula and Mavis.

BENCHMARK Park: Animation Height Requirement: 30 and over Age Interest: All ages Thrill Level: Family friendly

Hotel Transylvania is a similar attraction to the ride Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom, Disney World Orlando. The Haunted Mansion attraction utilizes a range of technology including centuries-old theatrical effects and modern special effects featuring spectral audio-animatronics, registered trademark of a form of robotics animation created by Walt Disney Imagineering.

13

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS

DESCRIPTION Winter Wonderland is an indoor play area inspired by the animated feature Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Featuring the ice cream scene from this movie as our environment, the play area will give the illusion of a snow-covered wonderland providing an endless winter. Our visitors will get to experience the whimsy of slowly falling snow while playing. They will also be able to experience other activities such as sledding, ice-skating. Guests will also feature ice cream shops, for them to give in to their sweet tooth.

BENCHMARK

Park: Animation Height Requirement: Any height Age Interest: Children under age 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Children will need supervision at all times. Thrill Level: Indoor snow play area

14

There are a variety of similar winter-themed attractions worldwide, such as Ski Dubai Snow Park, that provides the visitors the opportunity to see, experience and play snow. Sonyverse will create a similar, but smaller snow play area. The park will incorporate similar entertainment for the guests, but with the aesthetic from the movie the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS GHOSTBUSTERS

DESCRIPTION A ride through the world of Ghostbusters using innovative technology to give guests a one-of-a-kind experience. The ride will feature a miniature version of the iconic Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters’ ectomobile and guests will travel through a small scale replica of New York City capturing ghosts running amok. Each seat aboard the Ecto-1 will be equipped with a Ghost Vacuum and visitors will be introduced to the Ghost Goggles. These holographic lenses will enable wearers to interact with high definition holograms and visualize digital content in the real world. While riding through the city visitors will encounter and capture some of the most memorable ghosts from the franchise, including Stay Puft Man, who will make his triumphant return at the end of the ride.

BENCHMARK Park: Live-Action Film Height Requirement: 35” and over Age Interest: All ages Thrill Level: Child/ Family friendly

Disney’s Midway Mania is a similar ride designed for Toy Story in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Since its opening, it has been one of the most successful ride for this park. While this ride allows visitors to play a series of competitive carnival mini games, it is only limited to three dimensional graphics. Microsoft has developed the HoloLens which are augmented reality lenses that mesh the digital and real world.

15

PROJECT DELIVERABLES - SPECIFICATIONS FOR ATTRACTIONS MEN IN BLACK

DESCRIPTION Guests will be given the opportunity to experience the process of becoming a member of the Men In Black. Guests begin in the “debriefing chamber” before racing through the testing course pretending to shoot as aliens and monsters pop out at them. At the end of the ride the guest’s memories will be “wiped” as a bright white flash takes their picture.

BENCHMARK The Men In Black ride will be set up in a similar formula as NBC Universal Studios’ Transformer ride. Riders will wear 3D glasses from Germany’s Infitec and be whisked around using a flight simulation rig, as close as 15 feet, in front of 14 screens of various sizes, with the largest being 60 feet high. This combined with 4D experiential elements will allow guest to truly feel as if they are a part of the action.

Park: Live-Action Film Height Requirement: 46” and over Age Interest: 13 and over Thrill Level: Young adult/ adult
