Welcome to Ripon College!
We, the Orientation Committee, would like to personally welcome you, the class of 2017, into the Ripon College community! You will be faced with many new, exciting challenges and experiences as you begin your college career. Entering college is a huge step into a broad world. But don’t worry, the Orientation Committee is here to assist in your transition and guide you through your first weeks here on campus. This booklet is your guide to Welcome Week 2013. We hope that you will make the most of your first days on campus by participating in activities we’ve planned for you, planning for your academic career, and all the while meeting other members of your class and the Ripon College community. Each year the Orientation Committee chooses a theme which will encompass all aspects of the Ripon College Welcome Week experience. This year the committee has chosen “Game On!” as our theme. Our goal is to help you initiate the “game” of college. We hope you play your best and meet new students from all ends of the world as we come together to “Game On!” This game is your future—we are your resources, but you are the player! Try to come to as many activities as you can—we’ve planned them all around our “Game On” theme, and they’re designed for you to meet as many people as possible. Remember that everyone is just as new as you are, and the best way to meet someone is to just say “Hi!” We hope you’ll find your first week here both enjoyable and helpful. You never know what awaits you in your next move, but the Orientation Committee is here to help guide you through. Please let the Orientation Committee know when you have questions or concerns or if you’d simply like to sit and chat! We look forward to having you here this year, Red Hawk! Have a great Welcome Week!
~The 2013 Orientation Committee

Alma Mater Written by Sarah Clyde Mitchell Morse, Class of 1900, during her undergraduateyears, theAlmaMaterhasbeensungatCollegeevents throughout the last century and continues to be a Ripon tradition. The chimes of Harwood Memorial Union clocktower play the Alma Mater every day at 12:25 p.m.
Far within Wisconsin’s prairies, Wreathed in laurels green, Stands our noble Alma Mater, Ripon’s glorious queen. Chorus Lift the chorus, speed it onward Shout from sea to sea, Hail to thee, our Alma Mater, Hail, all hail, to thee. Long she’s stood ’mid cloud and sunshine, Firmly braved the storm, Loyal hearts now give the greeting, Praises true and warm.
