TRADITION. Ripon College Red Hawk athletics is teeming with and the epitome of tradition. The tradition of success started with the first team championship in 1915 and has flourished for nearly 100 years. The men and women who wear the Red Hawk uniform with pride know and reflect this tradition. Not only do they know the tradition of excellence that encompasses life on the field, they know they will find the same within each Ripon classroom — excellence evident by three Rhodes Scholars, a Phi Beta Kappa chapter and countless prominent alumni. I have been involved with Ripon athletics for more than 20 years and have experienced this tradition both in the classroom and on the playing field. Hard work and dedication are not
unusual at Ripon, they are the norm. These two qualities together have led Ripon through more than nine decades of winning. At Ripon, you will be surrounded by the finest coaches around, and they will be the first to tell you that hard work and dedication first comes in the classroom, then on the playing field. That family atmosphere makes Ripon very special.” Dick Bennett ’65 is retired head coach of men’s basketball at Washington State University. As head coach at the University of Wisconsin he led the Badgers to the NCAA Final Four in 2000. He is a member of Ripon’s Athletic Hall of Fame and has received the institution’s Distinguished Alumni Citation.

Ken Pinckney ’81 is a vice president and commercial banking officer with Johnson Bank in Milwaukee, Wis. He is a member of the Ripon Athletic Hall of Fame.
Nicole Gorske-Sutter ’01 is a physical education instructor and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Oshkosh, Wis., West High School. She was named RC Alumni Coach of the Year in 2008.

Jeff Trickey ’71 is a physical education instructor at Waukesha, Wis., West High School and director of Jeff Trickey Quarterback Camps, Inc. He is a member of the Ripon Athletic Hall of Fame.
