Old junk, particularly cast iron, seems very ancient and rigid to me with the stiff formality of Kouros and Cycladic art. I present these found objects without cutting or deforming through blacksmithing. They are what they are. Often I use contemporary industrial scrap for the bases. A spray of high gloss polyurethane encapsulates these objects from an earlier age. - Richard Edelman
