A Message from the Principal
As we come to the end of another wonderful year, and as I come to my final few days as KCC Principal, I feel so happy reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve all shared.
My mentor once said to me, ‘Nicola, if students are at the centre of every decision you make as a leader, you can never go wrong.’ This is the mantra I have been committed to upholding during my leadership of KCC. I want to thank my entire leadership team and staff for putting our students at the heart of everything, and for their relentless drive to build a quality IB school. I am confident we will stay true to this student-centred approach and the goal of the IB: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world.
To our amazing KCC students, you have shown yourselves to be caring, principled young people who take pride in your school and your learning journey. You are true IB learners. You have the courage to be individuals and trailblazers, you smile, laugh out loud, and always say ‘hello’. You are what sets this school apart from any other school I have been to. Thanks for giving meaning to my work and providing me with the best reason to show up every day and give it my all.
To our passionate, driven, and talented senior leaders and staff, thank you so much for being so great. If I could bottle the culture of care and joy that permeates this place, I would take it with me as my secret ingredient to sprinkle everywhere I go! Your dedication to our students and commitment to the IB principles shines through. You are lifelong learners, constantly seeking to develop and improve, and you have all navigated the challenges of a new, growing school with grace, wisdom and energy.
Lastly, thank you to all the wonderful parents. You have been brave and resilient, actively supporting our mission and vision. You also embody the IB Learner Profile. You have shown exceptional care, taken risks to support innovative educational approaches, acted with balance and integrity, and continuously reflected on how best to support your child’s learning and the school. Thank you for your efforts in fostering a happy, collaborative, and supportive community.
Together, we have created something incredibly special. KCC will always take up a huge part of my heart. Thank you for being part of my journey, teaching me, supporting me, and helping me continue to be a lifelong learner. Keep advocating for this amazing space where students and staff can unlock their unique potential and be who they want to be.
KCC Well-being
Throughout the year, our KCC community has focused on keeping everyone healthy and happy with an emphasis on wellbeing. During the winter months, our PYP students and staff got outside to enjoy our weekly Wellness Walks to encourage a balanced and healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally. The concept of a growth mindset has been integrated into our curriculum and daily routines.
As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we had our 4th annual Caring Boxes @ KCC initiative during the holy month of Ramadan. A ceremony was held for our amazing security guards, cleaners, nurses, and facilities team. This initiative is such a lovely way for our students to demonstrate the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and to show our KCC values of knowledge, courage, and connection.
Sporting events, productions, academic achievements, and health awareness days reinforced our balanced approach to education and wellbeing. Initiatives like anti-bullying efforts and weekly Learner Profile recognitions were a focus during ConnectEd and assemblies. Overall, wellbeing has shone bright throughout KCC!

Knowledge, Courage & Connection
This year marks another successful chapter for the Arabic Heritage Team at KCC. Alongside our continued commitment to cultural events such as the Mawlid and National Day celebrations, we placed an emphasis on academic enrichment.
Collaborating with the NIM committee of parents and students, we decorated the school with displays showcasing local heritage, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. Our dedicated teachers continue to instill a love for learning, evident in confidence in speaking Arabic and enhanced spelling abilities showcased in our competitions. Our IBT external results affirm the progress made in our students’ Arabic spelling, grammar, and reading comprehension skills, confirming we are on the right track.
One of my highlights was leading a PYP-X session with Grade 5 students titled “My Mother Tongue is My Superpower!” It was lovely to see students embrace their mother tongue as a source of strength and identity.

Live, Learn & Make a Difference
As we approach the end of the year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress our students have made throughout the academic year in Islamic and UAESS.
As a leader for Islamic and UAESS across MYP and PYP, I have had the privilege of overseeing their dedication and hard work towards achieving excellence in an environment that encourages them to strive for the best outcomes from every opportunity. Fulfilling the vision of the UAE founder, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who once said, “It is my duty as the leader of the young people of this country to encourage them to work and to exert themselves to raise their standards and to be of service to the country,” our students were inspired to seek knowledge with sincerity and humility, understanding that it is a means to get closer to Allah and fulfill their purpose in life.
By approaching learning with an open mind and connecting their academic knowledge with Islamic principles, values, and the local culture, our students were able to receive a comprehensive education that equips them with both the knowledge and values necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern world while remaining rooted in their faith. I am proud to work alongside our hardworking and caring team who made all of this possible.

A Message from the Head of Early Years
Our learners have brought an incredible sense of excitement and love of learning this year and it has been a delight to watch them grow and learn. Looking back, it is hard to imagine life without our littlest learners, the Minis. Our EY family is now complete!
Throughout the year there have been countless acts of our values in action. Knowledge, courage and connection have shone through everything.
They enthusiastically share their learning with their friends, explaining new concepts and celebrating their action pieces that showcases their knowledge and understanding. Their love of reading is evident as they dive into storybooks, eager to explore new worlds and ideas. They continuously astound us with their eagerness to learn. Whether it’s showing courage by making new friends on the playground or experimenting with new ideas in the classroom our students’ willingness to take risks is inspiring. Our students have built lasting friendships, showing kindness towards each other, working collaboratively on group projects and building a inclusive learning community. These connections extend beyond the classroom, bringing people together through shared experiences and understanding.
This year would not have been as successful without our KCC Community. Thank you to our incredible team of educators whose passion for learning and teaching are the driving force behind every exciting learning experience. Thank you to our community for your unwavering support and trust. Our school is where we are today because of your partnership. A Message from the Minis Learning & Teaching Lead
The first year at school for our Minis has been truly remarkable! We’re bursting with pride for our Mini superstars who’ve astounded us with their eagerness to learn and play. They’ve embarked on a captivating journey of exploration, making deep connections with new friends, adults, and our school community.
Throughout this year, the Minis have been discovering more about themselves, making connections between their home and school lives. Our first ever Minis family picnic was a joyous occasion where we celebrated the diverse tapestry of our families! The Minis have been expressing themselves through play and have become wonderful communicators. They have learnt to follow their interests, be creative, think deeply, ask questions and be inquirers.
The Minis shared their knowledge and applied their skills during our Stay and Plant morning while they planted new seeds and flowers in our EY garden. Teachers and parents were so proud to see the children speak with confidence and showcase their learning.
This year, the Minis have embraced new experiences as risk-takers, from their first swimming gala to commemorating National Day and World Book Day, among other milestones.
Reflecting on this unforgettable year, we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments!

A Message from the EY1 Learning & Teaching Lead
Wow! What an exceptional year of learning, inquiry, play and discovery by our littlest learners! I feel so lucky to be part of it. Our children made new friends, connected with adults and have begun to build a wonderful community here at KCC. They have begun to develop their communication skills, as they learn to express themselves confidently in a variety of ways. The children demonstrated that they were risk-takers, by taking on new challenges in this year of firsts! First time on a school bus, first time writing their name, first time walking to the classroom alone, first time on a field trip, first time losing a tooth, first time writing a sentence and the list goes on and on! We have loved being beside them every step of the way and have beamed with pride each time a new milestone has been hit!
The children have delved into our units of inquiry with gusto, developing a range of skills that will form the foundations of their learning as they move through the school. A highlight for us was watching the children develop early coding skills with beloved ‘beebots’. During the unit ‘How we Express Ourselves’, it was incredible to see them use directional language and later their presentation skills as they used the beebots as a storytelling tool. Another fantastic inquiry was their recent dive into ‘Sharing The Planet’. Children made deep connections to their learning as they engaged in a class action of designing and creating an EY1 garden. Their growing passion for the natural world and their sense of responsibility towards the environment has been wonderful to see.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for being part of this special year. A year to remember!

A Message from the EY2 Learning & Teaching Lead
The EY2 Teachers and Learning Assistants couldn’t be more proud! This school year has flown by, and our EY2 learners have exceeded expectations in their creative thinking, investigative skills, and their ability to follow their curiosities. They’ve truly blossomed into little researchers, presenting their findings with such enthusiasm and confidence.
Our Units of Inquiry allowed the children to showcase their learning in numerous ways. From class books, our professions expo, toy creations, imaginary animal constructions, to life cycles, it was a joy to witness the children confidently articulate their learning journey. Both parents and teachers alike were beaming with pride.
We had a number of exciting days throughout the year, including Sports Day, World Book Day, 100 Days at School, National Day, and Profession Expo Day, to name just a few. These days were bursting with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories.
The EY2 Team have loved teaching your children this year. As we bid them farewell from EY2, we wish them the very best of luck as they step into Grade One. We are confident they will continue to make us proud!

A Message from the Head of Primary
Throughout this academic year, each day has been wonderful, all thanks to the exceptional students at KCC. Their infectious smiles, conversations, and boundless love have created an atmosphere of positivity and inspiration. Witnessing their incredible journey of learning and growth has been truly uplifting. As we celebrate their achievements, I am filled with immense pride for the vibrant and inclusive community we have built and feel honoured to be the Head of Primary at KCC.
Our students have demonstrated the attributes of the IB Learner Profiles in various areas of their school life. Inside the classroom, during productions, and on the sports field, they’ve showcased their depth of understanding and willingness to take risks. Through engaging discussions, collaborative projects, and creative performances, they’ve exemplified their knowledge and courage to explore new ideas. Our students have embraced a range of learning opportunities, both within our school and through field trips. These experiences, grounded in our transdisciplinary curriculum, have provided students with authentic contexts to apply their learning.
Central to our students’ growth and development are our dedicated teachers, whose commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment has created a culture of excellence. Their guidance and mentorship have been invaluable in nurturing the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students.
We extend our appreciation to our parents, whose support and partnership have been instrumental in our success. We are excited to continue this journey together next year.

A Message from the Grade 1 Learning & Teaching Lead
As we approach the end of another amazing academic year, we reflect on the exceptional accomplishments of our Grade 1 students.
In the unit Who We Are, students embarked on a journey of self-discovery by creating ‘All About Me’ bags, filled with items that reflect their interests and passions. The students were able to justify each of those choices in a video they made to share with their classmates and parents.
During our Sharing The Planet unit, our young conservationists stepped into the role of National Geographic presenters, sharing knowledge on habitats, micro-habitats, and food chains. Their ability to share their knowledge through informative texts was highlighted during an impressive Habitat Exhibition, where they highlighted the importance of preserving habitats. The Grade 1s were also able to visit Al Mazaara Farm, where they delved into organic farming techniques and effective seed planting.
In How The World Works, Grade 1 students demonstrated their ingenuity by devising innovative designs and solutions to rescue Miss Rachel from the pool, utilising recyclable materials to showcase their problem-solving skills.
In Where We Are in Place and Time, students celebrated their cultural heritage by creating iMovies, showcasing their unique, globalmindedness. We furthered their understanding of our country and Emirati culture through a visit to Qasr Al Hosn.
Students explored their artistic talents in the unit How We Express Ourselves, drawing inspiration from renowned painters such as Kandinsky, Picasso, and Rothko. A visit to the Louvre Museum further deepened their appreciation for artistic techniques and mediums.
All our Grade 1 students amazed us in the end-of-year production, Rockpool, demonstrating their singing and acting talents, commitment, and teamwork. They will surely remember the show for years to come! Throughout the year, their enthusiasm, boundless creativity, and capacity for embracing diverse viewpoints enriched our classrooms greatly!

A Message from the Grade 2 Learning & Teaching Lead
What a remarkable journey we’ve had in Grade 2! As the Learning and Teaching Lead, I want to extend thanks to both our students and the Grade 2 team. It’s amazing how quickly this year has passed; it feels like just yesterday it was September. Our Grade 2 students have shown remarkable progress, both academically and socially. Witnessing their development, from building new friendships to grasping complex concepts, has been incredibly fulfilling.
While it’s impossible to cover all the wonderful moments we’ve shared, I’ll highlight some of the most memorable. We began the year with our, Who We Are unit, inquiring into teamwork and leadership qualities, and we loved having our parent community come in to view our Role Model Gallery. In the unit, Where We Are in Place and Time, our students learned all about why settlements were built on certain landforms. They also explored the idea of sustainability and were fortunate to have the opportunity to visit Masdar City to see sustainability in action. Finally, for our Sharing the Planet unit, our students researched how different ecosystems are affected by human actions. They learned about the mangroves as an important local ecosystem and had the opportunity to take action to help save this ecosystem by visiting Jubail Mangrove Park to plant some seedlings.
These Grade 2 students have flourished, and I’m confident they’ll continue to thrive in Grade 3. It’s been an honour to journey with them this year, and we’re grateful for the experiences we’ve shared!
Kathleen, Grade 2 Learning & Teaching Lead
A Message from the Grade 3 Learning & Teaching Lead
As the grade 3 LTL, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic year we’ve had together. Our students have shown an incredible passion for learning, a genuine curiosity, and a real thirst for knowledge. It’s been inspiring to witness their eagerness to embrace new challenges and take risks. They’ve approached every task with determination and have consistently demonstrated resilience and perseverance.
Throughout the year, our students have looked into various units of inquiry, and I would like to highlight some of the fun things we have done. Students collaborated in groups to design an island while focusing on understanding the rights and responsibilities of children, and explored the scientific method during states of matter with hands on activities such as Oobleck and making butter. We also made a shoe box loom production line to help us explore factors that affect production and we even made solar panel ovens! Plus a field trip to Pizza Express, World Book Day, Sports Day and International Day and science shows. These are just a few examples among many other fun projects and activities our students have engaged in.
A big thank you to all the parents, your support throughout the year has been greatly appreciated.
What a year it’s been! I feel so lucky to have been a part of this journey. I can say with complete confidence that our Grade 3 students are ready to take on the next school year.
Steffi, Grade 3 Learning & Teaching Lead
A Message from the Grade 4 Learning & Teaching Lead
What an incredible year of growth we have had in Grade 4! From the learning within the classroom, to community connections, to field trips and so much more, this year has been full. If we could sum up the year in a single word, it would be Connection.
There have been so many opportunities for students to make connections between the concepts taught at school, and reallife contexts. From designing posters for well-being, to writing novels and building businesses, Grade 4 have transferred their learning across multiple subject areas, connecting their ideas and building upon their understanding. Connections in learning!
As thinkers and communicators, the students have worked collaboratively on multiple occasions which has allowed them to strengthen their interactions by listening to one another, developing respect for varying ideas and building empathy. Connections in relationships!
They have shown themselves as risk-takers- not afraid to step out and try new things. This really shone during the Sharing the Planet unit where the students had to work together to create a mini performance. As authors, writing and publishing entire narrative novels took patience and persistence. The concept of Process woven throughout their writing journey. Connections to themselves as learners!
Has the journey always been “a walk in the park”- No- but within the twists and turns of building understanding, growth happens. It is within the process of discovery and ‘failure’ that our Grade 4 students have made the biggest progress. We have witnessed so many of them finding joy in making mistakes, implementing strategies to move forward in their learning and developing a growth mindset.
The teachers are incredibly proud of our Grade 4 students and look forward to seeing them develop further, as they enter the final stage of their PYP journey.
Greer, Grade 4 Learning & Teaching Lead
A Message from the Grade 5 Learning & Teaching Lead
Grade 5 has once again proven to be a remarkable year of growth and development! Witnessing the students’ transition from Grade 4 to the confident, articulate Grade 5 individuals who passionately presented their PYPX topics at the end of this year has been truly inspiring.
Some incredible learning has taken place this year. In our unit, Where We Are in Place and Time, students inquired into their family’s migration story, considering the factors and implications of migration in their own story. This culminated in a Migration Museum, complete with audio guides. For Sharing the Planet, we had a strong transdisciplinary connection with Art and each class worked together to create reproductions of each biome, representing how human impact can create change for the worse, but also for the better.
Self-reflection and personal development have been a focus in Grade 5 this year and it has been wonderful to see so many students play to their strengths, both inside and out of the classroom. As leaders of the Primary School, students have confidently participated in sports teams, performed in concerts, taken starring roles in ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’ and much more. It is important, too, to acknowledge the smaller, individual successes; making new friends, reaching academic targets and developing new skills.
Throughout the year, teamwork has been at the forefront, whether it was collaboratively creating biomes or bonding during our in-school camp. Our trips to SeaWorld and Alif Pavilion at Expo Dubai provided exciting opportunities for the students to extend their inquiries beyond the classroom, fostering deeper reflections on humanity’s exploration of and impact on the planet. It has been a privilege for the Grade 5 team to guide and support this amazing group of students. Wishing you all the best, Grade 5s!

A Message from the Head of Secondary
As I turn the pages of our KCC yearbook, I’m reminded of the incredible journey we’ve shared together, not just in 202324 but over the past three years. From the first day we walked through these halls to the countless memories we’ve created in our classrooms, on the field, and during special events, each moment has contributed to the vibrant warmth of our school community.
As I prepare to bid farewell to KCC, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with gratitude. It’s been an honour and a privilege to serve as part of this incredible institution alongside dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our thoughtful and caring students.
From the smallest acts of kindness to the most ambitious projects, the spirit of courage, connection, and knowledge that defines KCC has left an indelible mark on me. Our students are not just academically accomplished, but also empathetic and socially aware individuals. They have the potential to create a significant impact in the world, a testament to the nurturing environment of our community.
While bidding farewell is never easy, I find comfort in the knowledge that the lessons learned and the friendships forged here at KCC will accompany me on my journey. As I step into the next chapter of my life, I’ll carry the memories of familiar faces and the warmth of our community. I’m filled with excitement for the adventures that await, knowing that KCC has prepared me well.
As we close this chapter of our lives, let’s cherish the memories and friendships we’ve formed. Thank you, KCC, for these unforgettable years. Here’s to the past, the present, and the bright future that awaits us all.

“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!”
This quote could not be more true for our wonderful MYP 1 students and how much they have grown and embraced the challenges they have come across this year in MYP 1 and I have no doubt that they will continue to do this in MYP 2.
This year our MYP 1 students have excelled, both academically and in their extracurricular activities. We have celebrated monthly awards such as Learner Profile Awards, Athlete of the Month Awards, Create Awards, and Language Awards. In addition to these they have participated enthusiastically in a variety of Osrah events, from Sports Day to the Lip Sync Battle, Football Tournaments to Table Tennis Competitions. Moreover, our students have showcased their talents in robotics competitions, music recitals, school plays, and sports events. What a range of talents we have had across MYP 1.

A Message from the Grade 7 Learning & Teaching Lead
At the start of the year, MYP2 students were given the challenge to not just focus solely on academics but to make their character the most impressive part about them. It has been amazing to watch our MYP2 students learn and grow to develop as wellrounded individuals and members of our school community.
The students have been involved in multiple events and extra-curricular opportunities that have given them a platform to display their strengths outside of the classroom. Our MYP2 students have contributed greatly to our athletics program in which they have been given the opportunity to compete with their classmates and learn what it means to be part of a team. Not only have the student’s displayed excellence in athletics but they have contributed greatly to our arts programs through music recitals, school plays, and robotics competitions. The students were also involved in sports day as well as multiple Osrah competitions in which they competed against their classmates. The MYP2 lip sync battle was very memorable, and it was incredible to see the students shine on stage. The skills and traits our students have learned through these opportunities have been invaluable.
A major highlight of the year was our trip to Camp Kalba. The students were able to connect on a different level outside of the regular classroom environment and it made for a very memorable experience.
Academically students have been supported, encouraged and challenged throughout the year. The progress and growth our students have shown has been incredible to watch.
Student achievement has been celebrated throughout the year as our MYP2 students have made so many incredible contributions. We have recognized student achievement on a monthly basis through our Learning Profile awards, Language awards, Create awards, and Athlete of the Month. It will be very exciting to watch the continued progress of our MYP2 students as they move into MYP3.

“Education isn’t just about what you’ve learned, but how you’ve grown” This is certainly true, and throughout this academic year, it’s been truly inspiring to witness the remarkable growth and accomplishments of each one of you.
I couldn’t be prouder of the MYP 3 students who have enriched our school community with their talents and unwavering dedication. From excelling in various subjects to leading Osrah competitions, and initiating new projects, along with representing KCC Cobras with pride, and captivating audiences in school productions and musical events, your achievements have been nothing short of outstanding.
One of the highlights of the year was our unforgettable trips to Kenya and Fujairah, where bonds were strengthened, individual growth was nurtured, and memories were made to last a lifetime. Another standout moment was our MYP 3 Osrah football competition, where the boys exemplified their passion for the game. I was particularly struck by the unwavering support and guidance they offered one another, showcasing a remarkable sense of camaraderie as they competed for the top position. Similarly, the girls demonstrated equal competitiveness, yet their matches were brimming with laughter and joy. Witnessing the closeness of our grade level was truly heartening.
Following our session with Ms. Carmen, it was truly uplifting to witness the lively discussions ignited about your future aspirations. The buzz of excitement that filled the room and the heartfelt conversations about your ambitions and potential pathways warmed my heart. As we look back on the accomplishments of this year, I am not only filled with pride for all that you have achieved, but also brimming with anticipation to see how you will further develop and grow as you step into the next phase of your journey in MYP 4.

A Message from the Grade 9 Learning & Teaching Lead
Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” These words from the late Maya Angelou capture the growth mindset of our MYP 4 students this school year. I am truly proud of the efforts they have put into their learning and growth as individuals and community members. Angelou’s words also speak to the way the MYP 4s model what it means to be caring and principled IB global citizens.
Many of the highlights of the year in MYP 4 involve students embodying the learner profile attribute of a risk-taker. From stepping up to lead our student assemblies, to collaborating with PYP students in supporting their numeracy and literacy engagement and development, to gracing us on the stage with their lip sync battle talent, these students have made KCC proud.
One of the highlights of the year was the friendships formed during an active week of team building and communication challenges in Fujairah at the end of term one.Students also stepped out of their comfort zones during the Sail GP Field Trip where they learned from engineers and sail experts. Likewise, a trip to a French movie screening on Saadiyat allowed students to apply their classroom learning in an authentic context. While these experiences off campus have enriched our MYP 4 students, the students themselves have enriched our KCC community with their kindness and integrity. If you take a walk past G2-10, you will see our MYP 4 shout-outs wall wherein students practice regular gratitude and appreciation for the accomplishments of their peers.
Speaking of shout-outs, a special shout-out goes to Mr. Will (9 Wathba) and Ms. Kim (9 Quadra) for being fabulous mentor teachers and supports throughout the school year. Their involvement in helping their mentor group develop their ATL skills and sharing a few laughs along the way does not go unnoticed.
It has been a true pleasure to witness these fabulous individuals grow in confidence as learners, witness new friendships evolve, and see how students navigate conflict. I know this crew is destined for greatness and I look forward to following their journey as they enter the final year of the MYP program. For now, it’s time for rest and relaxation. You’ve earned it MYP 4s!

A Message from the Grade 6 Learning & Teaching Lead
Starting a job at a new school is scary. Starting as LTL of the eldest cohort in the school is even scarier. However, Raha KCC’s MYP 5 students have left no doubt in my mind that they are the embodiment of what I’ve come to know and love in our school. They are welcoming, kind, funny, and eager to show that they are leaders in their school and their community.
They thrived while developing their skills and then presenting their Personal Projects. Many students traveled to Cambodia for a Service as Action trip, where they built water pots for the local families, repaired walking paths, and even taught some English lessons! They showed their true compassion for others and made us proud as they represented our school and community.
At Model United Nations, MYP 5 students continue to impress as they competed at the American University in Dubai. This year, they have worked hard to prepare themselves for the IB Diploma Programme. I am extremely proud of the progress MYP 5 has made this year and I am excited, along with their other teachers, to usher them into the DP Programme next year where they will undoubtedly face some of the biggest academic challenges thus far; we know they will overcome these challenges and persevere.
Thank you for a fabulous year and for having open arms to your new teachers and continued respect and care for all the teachers and leaders you’ve known for years. Congratulations on your MYP graduation! Let’s go, Raha KCC DP students!
