Continuous Learning Tips for Parents
Depending on your child’s age, establish or help define routines and expectations.
Choose a learning location that is suitable to be seen by peers and teachers if students are using video tools. If there are siblings simultaneously online, choose locations that do not cause noise interference when recording learning or video conferencing.
Take an active role in helping your child process and document their learning. Assist students in documenting their learning on Seesaw & ManageBac. Ask questions, talk about learning, upcoming deadlines, and workload.
Establish times for quiet and reflection. Provide time for your child to have ownership over their own use of time and activity.
Encourage your child to take study breaks and to take part in physical activity/exercise. Remain mindful of your child’s stress or worry; speak to them regularly about concerns or challenges. Monitor how much time your child is spending online.
Monitor communications from your child's teacher through Seesaw / ManageBac messages. Communicate any concerns to your child’s teacher or counsellor via email.
