WHAT ARE 'COLLABORATIVE LEARNING CLASSROOMS'?
PROJECT UPDATE WITH
Nicola Neethling Head of Early Years, Raha International School
Executive Principal
Based on this vision and current research on 21stcentury teaching and learning practices, we have incorporated an innovative classroom design into our new Khalifa City Campus. This design provides open, free-flow spaces between neighbouring classrooms in the Early Years. Our Collaborative Learning Classrooms give our students the opportunity to learn in different ways, in different areas, and in collaboration with other children and teachers.

Construction is going to plan, the most recent project update showed us on target. Most of the walls are now up and some have been painted!
These spaces provide the optimal environment to support the IB philosophy of play as the primary vehicle for learning in the Early Years. Utilising these spaces, our teachers have the flexibility to create intentional opportunities for child-initiated play and hands-on learning. Social and emotional development naturally takes shape as children explore, discover, and make connections between themselves, others and their learning environment.
