From the Office of the Principal
FROM MS NICOLA As we come to the end of a brilliant year, we want
to
take
time
accomplishments
and
to
reflect
successes
on
as
our a
school community. It is incredible to think that we only opened our doors to Phase 2 of KCC in September!
As the pressures that the pandemic created are beginning to subside, we couldn’t be
happier to put it behind us and direct our focus entirely back on learning and teaching.
The well-being of our students is paramount. Our students have had such a challenging past 2 years and
with learning being an intrinsically social process, we look forward to stability with our students being fully back in our school, learning together.
My highlights for this year are so varied! Our first PYP exhibition was a success. To
see the culmination of our Grade 5s' learning, effort and collaboration truly exemplified what it means to be an IB learner. This special group of Grade 5s rose to the occasion and presented outstanding exhibitions. We are proud of their accomplishments this year.
Being an avid sportsperson, having sports back on the calendar is another highlight. I am delighted to see interschool competitions taking place in our stunning gym as
well as our students getting the opportunity to compete at other schools. As we move into the new academic year, I can’t wait to see our students develop their sporting abilities and compete across sporting disciplines in the local circuit.
From the Office of the Principal
Both our Winter and Summer musical showcases were stunning! The students'
performances were spectacular and really demonstrated the musical talent we have within our student body. This was also evident with the student who represented KCC at the Abu Dhabi Young Musicians Competition. We had a
wonderful drama production with 12th Night Abridged presented by our secondary
students who showcased their theatrical skills to a captivated audience. Our performing arts calendar looks busy for next year and we look forward to welcoming
more audiences into school and developing our performing arts programme even further.
International day was a highlight of the calendar this year. I especially loved the student-led international day performances that a small group of secondary students coordinated. It was lovely to see our Grade 6 to 8 students showcase their talents with such confidence and celebrate our wonderfully diverse KCC community. We thank our staff. Arguably, it has never been such a challenging time to be an educator. With the demands of juggling online and face to face teaching, identifying and addressing gaps in learning, and new complexities around the social and
emotional wellbeing of our students brought on by the pandemic, they have risen to the challenge and been there for our learners. They have juggled the new demands
of their professional and have always shown a commitment to KCC and to our families. We are fortunate to have these talented, caring and courageous teachers.
Thank you to all for an amazing school year! Please take time to switch off, relax
and enjoy the summer. We will see everyone back in August, refreshed and ready to learn!

Early Years
FROM MS ANNA It has been a whirlwind of a year - our second as KCC and our first fully open! Our children have grown into knowledgeable little learners, excitedly exploring their classrooms, outside areas and the new spaces in the main school. When I look back, it jumps out to me what makes KCC so special – the serious business of learning, mixed with a huge amount of fun! World Book Day, 100 Days, International Day, Sports Day and Picnics. What a year! Thank you for having the courage to join us on our journey and for your dedication to our KCC Community. It Is our students and families that make our community so special!
Anna Lacey Vice-Principal, Head of Early Years
Primary
FROM MS ANNE A year unlike any other. So much to celebrate and so many memories made. We welcomed 208 new students into the Primary this year as we grew from 4 to 13 classes. With this growth, we have made connections with new friends and families. At the beginning of the year, we opened our doors to Phase 2 and have been enjoying the incredible, purpose-built facilities which all support the holistic development of our learners. There is so much to celebrate, from the return of ECPs and inter-school sports, to International Day and lots, lots more. I could not be prouder of our school and appreciate the support and commitment from our community. We wish our incredible Grade 5 students good luck, as they move into the MYP. During their PYP Exhibition they demonstrated that they have developed the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need as they open the door to the MYP. We love seeing your smiles and I cannot wait for next year!
Anne Watkins Head of Primary
Secondary
FROM MS LUCI "Every moment is a fresh beginning." T. S. Eliot To be at the start of something special is a rare gift, it has been a privilege to work alongside Mr. Paul this year to establish the secondary school at KCC. We started with an incredibly passionate and dedicated team of MYP teachers, who embody so many of the IB Learner Profile attributes. They are caring, they are reflective, and they are very knowledgeable about their subjects. Most importantly, they have loved sharing their knowledge and passion with this group of secondary students. We are grateful for the opportunity to grow our secondary school with such committed and unique learners. Coming together from across the world, the secondary students have supported and cared for one another, embraced the IB curriculum, and shared their skills and talents with us. Each day we watch them grow as IB learners; they are now questioning answers as skillfully as they can answer questions! We are very excited to welcome more learners to our KCC community next year, to continue our growth and development as an outstanding secondary school. It has been wonderful to get to know the students and meet their families this year. I look forward to having many more opportunities to celebrate our students’ amazing achievements with you next year, and to share more new beginnings, more new opportunities, and more new learnings together.
