SITE

Mahe was a cultural hub in the south indian peninsula during the colonial era. It had influence from the french who occupied the land among other territories of puduchery. Traces of it can still be seen, even although now being slowly forgotten. Now it is known for altogether something else.
ARCHI T ECTON IC STUDY Architectonic models of different sensory experiences related to Mahe’s culture were made (sourced from M. Mukhunthan’s novel), and then different iterations were tried on site model, studying pros and cons of each combinations. These spatial elements were then converted into built spaces.

Settlement around Tali Temple, Calicut.
DE SI G N I N T ER V EN T I O N S After studying the pattern of nearby settlements, Design intervention for the proposed community in a nearby site is tried out, through multiple iterations. Different user groups is imagined with reference from the settlements studied, and house units specific to them are designed.
