Capstone Project | Bim Professional Course
To redevelop an existing high-rise building that was built back in the 70s which is located at the intersection between Wellington Street & Queen’s Road Central in the Central District of Hong Kong. Existing building does not maximize the currently allowed GFA for the plot. Despite the underutilized GFA, it would also study the possibility of another building volume that can give a better return on Investment,
also making it a landmark in the critical urban point. So the building is to be extended to 21 storeys with mixed-use offices and service apartments. The project is worked adhering to the RIBA Plan of work.

MASSING DEVELOPMENT
Concept design study using Revit mass family & design options
Design documents in the form of autocad drawings are referred to create 3D massing form as Revit mass family, and then the per floor GFA is carefully monitered to iterate the design, and to arrive at optimum balance between design features and GFA. Revit design option tool is used to swiftly replace options.

Seperate volumes are assigned to task teams to geospatially locate their proposed components and design elements. Multiple models for each discipline as per a portion (a group of levels) of the project, and the architecture model used for documentation The Architectural and Structural models will follow a separation by floors. Structural models should also follow construction joints.

Apartment project in Kerala, Used as practise model for Revit
KApartment is a project located in Kannur, Kerala. the Client wanted a low cost rentable apartment building with 4 Nos apartment Units. The design follows tropical modernist styling. The project is modelled and iterated from Revit, Rendered & visualized in Lumion using Live sync Plugin. Several iterations of the design is quickly modeled
in revit and synced simultaneously to Lumion for visualization outputs, so as to streamline and expedite the communication and discussion of the changes with client, saving time.
