MUSIC FOR THE EYES HARMONY - A BOOK OF PICTORIAL MEDITATIONS From clutter find simplicity, from chaos find peace in a book of visual meditations to calm the mind from information saturated stress. Harmony is an illustrated collection of original sumi-e paintings and matching calendar that everyone experiencing information overload in a fast paced world needs to have at their fingertips. “It is a joy to look at” says yoga instructor Jenny Walton, “and that’s what it’s all about. To look and clear your mind”. The book is a collection of 20 ink minimalist paintings specifically designed to help clear the mind by looking at them. Each image was hand painted and carefully reproduced to retain the qualities of ink. You can focus on one painting or leaf through the book’s several paintings at a time. The negative space on each page and simplicity of the paintings is designed to provide relief to the mind. The book is being released in conjunction with PTSD month in June 2017 and the publisher is partnering with yoga students at Griffith University during exam time to aid with studies and the stress associated with exams.
CORPORATE MANUAL
Harmony retails for $49.95 together with the desk calendar and is available on line at www.legleur.blueflowerart.com and at various retail outlets and bookstores. The packaging was designed to transform into the desk stand that holds the book and calendar at your disposal. About the author: Rita Drysdall is an Australian graphic designer and artist. She creates original paintings in various styles. Rita operates from her studio in Ormeau, a small town 50 kms south of Brisbane. Her paintings and work are available on her web site at www.blueflowerart.com

ABOUT THE BOOK The book comprises of 20 images painted with Sumi ink in the Sumi-e style. The images that were painted were created for the purpose of meditation. Hundreds of images were painted over a period of several days and the best were selected for inclusion in the book. Additional brush marks were also painted at this stage to supplement the Photoshop Brush products.

Each image was scanned at 300 DPI to ensure quality, carefully enhanced in Photoshop and converted to Photoshop brushes.

The scanned images were catalogued in digital format for future use if required. The images were paired into spreads. The images for each spread were carefully chosen to please the eye and complement each other.

Subsequent to editing and proofing, the book was uploaded to www.snapfish.com.au for printing into a book size 8 inch x 8 inch square format.

ABOUT THE PHOTOSHOP BRUSHES Additional paintings were made to supplement the book images. In total 40 brushes were made and divided into lots of 10. In addition, 4 photo masks were also made and packaged to be sold with the brushes either individually or in a collection. The brushes and masks are a digital download. The brushes, where they appear in the book as a pair, were separated in the brushes packs to encourage the purchase of more than one pack of brushes.
