PROJECTS
SANTO ANDRÉ LANDSCAPE RECOVERY IN SANTO ANDRÉ BEACH AREA, SANTIAGO DO CACÉM - PORTUGAL Identifying the natural characteristics and factors to be improved or to be used for a better functional recovery, while striving for the conservation of Santo André beach area. This area corresponds to a shoresystem-strands and coastal lagoons, which are associated with a dune systems zone. For this reason, the area is extremely sensitive and unstable because it is a place of communication between land and sea. This is why the vegetation is very important and so, the main goal of this project was to make a dune recovery trough the introduction of stabilizing species along some dune areas, while finding at the same time, a pleasant design for this bathing area.

ODIVELAS
LANDSCAPE PLANNING IN ODIVELAS MUNICIPALITY, LISBOA - PORTUGAL
Over the past 50 years, Odivelas faced an large urban pressure emerging, which marked the transition from a disorganized rural landscape to urban. This transition has had several consequences as the implementation of illegal buildings (lawlessly) giving rise to several problems of landscape management which made it unsustainable. This is the reason why Odivelas munincipality asked for help for an oriented Landscape Planning in order to bring back the sustainability and make this area be used properly. This project aims to clarify and plan the right use of the land and had GIS software as a support of strategy and understanding of the different maps with relevant information about the area such as ecological structures, erosion areas, water infiltration areas, soil conditions and water lines. All this together to help to bring Odivelas a better future.

BELA VISTA
REHABILITATION PROJECT IN BELA VISTA NEIGHBORHOOD, SETĂšBAL - PORTUGAL Bela Vista neighborhood was identified as a sufered area that was previously occupied by low income residents and where year after year the buildings were getting increasingly degraded as well as the surrounding landscape. The fact that Bela Vista was a social neighborhood where the residents could not pay for renewals in the area was the reason why it was barely tapped although it has a lot of potentials.
In this proposal intervention was considered as the main target for the remodeling of this space, to satisfy the needs of its users, creating for this aim two different zones with different purposes: An active recreational area and one crossing area, both separated by one water feature and combined with all its surrounding structure as well as the type of vegetation chosen.

KIRSTINEHØJ
RENEWAL PROJECT IN KIRSTINEHØJ MUNICIPALITY KØBENAHVN, DENMARK
The Kirstinehøj site sits within a context of functional disarray and varying urban typologies. This project looks at how to create new social and cultural possibilities for this area through a functional and physical intervention. The existing warehouses would function as a building block for a new creative community. The landscape surrounding these buildings is meant to support their creative inhabitants while forming a new connective tissue between the neighbouring sites. This tissue will consist of Landscape Rooms offering a variety of experiences through structural and vegetal compositions based on the forms and scale of neighbouring suburban typologies.

FREDERIKSVÆRK
LANDSCAPE PLANNING IN FREDERIKSVÆRK MUNICIPALITY FREDERIKSVÆRK, DENMARK The edge is a contrasting transi- tion between the city and surround- ing landscape. It provides two things: a path that takes you north-south with recreational experiences, and a green city wall framing and densifying the city. Six specific lines are strengthened. They go from the surrounding land- scape and into the city center, in east- west direction. They are called names as “the canal” and “the dike”. These six lines are chosen both for their spe- cific historic importance and their lo- cation, as they bring history and land- scape back into the city center.
