Gavin Glass played piano and banjo, Ross Turner was on drums, Shane Fitzsimons, double and electric bass, Donagh Molloy, harmonium and trumpet and an eight and a half months pregnant Lucy Wilkins played violin and arranged a couple of songs for cello and violin. Every August, 32 Roses from all over the world come together in Tralee, Co. Kerry, all of them either born in Ireland or of Irish descent. One of them will be crowned The Rose of Tralee. This is the heartbreaking story of the year the RiberillaDelAltaHazaña Rose donned the sash, to fight for truth, for justice, in the Spanish way. Find out what really happens behind the scenes in Tralee; learn how to peel an apple with a knife and fork, how to get out of the car without showing your knickers and how when in the company of boys, you must never wear white, because it reminds them of sheets. “Zocorro Rose of Tralee” sold out at the 2009 Absolut Dublin Fringe and has since enjoyed huge success. Don’t miss this hilarious comedy show. “...impeccable timing...a keen comic talent” IRISH TIMES “passion...verve…kept the audience hanging on every word” culch.ie “delivers killer jokes … her wit is undeniable” IRISH THEATRE MAGAZINE

THE NEVERENDING STORY
TIME PRICE
2PM €3
A classic in children’s cinema! Bastian is a young boy who lives a dreary life being tormented by school bullies. On one such occasion he escapes into a book shop where the old proprietor reveals an ancient story-book to him, which he is warned can be dangerous. Shortly after, he “borrows” the book and begins to read it in the school attic where he is drawn into the mythical land of Fantasia, which desperately needs a hero to save it from destruction. Both children and adults will enjoy this film for its special effects, beautiful scenery, and colorful characters. Most of all, the message of daring to dream and soaring to new heights through books is a powerful one that kids of any age can relate to.

CELEBRATING THE WORKS OF CONTEMPORARY CRAFT MAKERS MICHELE HANNAN, EVA KELLY AND DARA O’NEILL
TIME MCKENNA GALLERY 10AM - 5.30PM MON - FRI 10AM - 1PM SAT PRICE FREE ADMISSION (ARTWORKS FOR SALE) Riverbank Arts Centre is delighted to showcase the contemporary works of three craft makers as part of the Craft Council of Ireland’s designated year of craft. A shared passion for the environment led three artists to collaborate for this show. Michele Hannan’s ceramic sculptures and flowing vessels draw their inspiration from the simple forms found in nature and the abstracted rhythmical patterns created by the sea. Michele’s work is decorated combining glass and volcanic glazes. Eva Kelly’s fused glass wall pieces are a further development of her ‘Rockpool’ series of plates. Inspired by the rock formations around the west coast of Ireland, Eva translates her ideas into three dimentional sculptures using fusing, slumping and multiple firings . She adds various metals and glass oxides to give her work greater depth and colour. Dara O’Neill is a textile artist . Her paintings on silk reflect the changing light in nature. Her work exudes a sense of calmness with her choice of colours. For information on events around Year of Craft 2011, see www.craftinireland.com For information on the three craft makers featured here, see www.riverbank.ie
