_________________________________________________________________________ FROM THE HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTRE A registered nurse educator from Asthma New Zealand (Lakes Region) will be attending Rotorua Lakes High School to support and educate asthmatic teens around their asthma. We offer a free one on one assessment service where we assess all newly enrolled students who have asthma, as well as those who might be having issues managing their asthma. We seek to improve our regions asthma outcomes by educating people around their asthma so they can better understand their condition and how best to manage it. We also aim to keep students in school and reduce school absenteeism caused from poorly controlled asthma. We make sure the students are on the right medications, and use good asthma inhaler technique and help the student to find ways for them to best manage their asthma individually. Please inform the school nurse if you do not wish your child to be seen by the Asthma NZ nurse. To find out more about us please visit our website at https://www.asthma.org.nz/ Or contact Nurse Educator Amanda Vercoe, Phone: 021 0844 1635 Email: Rotorua@asthma.org.nz _______________________________________________________________________________
