Dear Parents / Caregivers & Whanau As you will read in this week’s newsletter we have had some great recent successes achieved by students in our school. Our Senior students have also been dealing with the stresses of prelim exams and those results will be important as they form the basis for further work and also derived grades. The experience of sitting exams, while never pleasant, is important to prepare them for the externals at the end of year. The government has recently announced further resourcing for learning support with the delivery of 623 Learning Support Coordinators across the country. We have been fortunate in our Kahui Ako (Community of Learning) to have received an allocation of 4 learning support coordinators. How we develop this resource and use it to its best potential, is currently being explored. At the end of last week I had the pleasure of visiting a number of our rural contributing schools and had discussions on how we can develop stronger pathways for students coming through to RLHS. Many of you may have seen the article published on the front page of the Weekend Post on Saturday regarding NCEA where 2 of our students featured prominently in the article. I would just like to take this opportunity to reemphasise the positive impact of the professional support given by our staff to all our students to help them develop the pathways they wish to follow. The results are clear to see.
